Just wondering if any of you folks have a "guilty pleasure" game or even genre which you dig into. I personally don't tend to believe that any game is really that much of a guilty pleasure if you for some reason enjoy it (ex: playing terrible games, etc). This just came to mind as I was listening to a podcast and they chatted a bit about "junk food games" which seems to me a similar/same concept.

So, what are your guilty pleasure games? If I had to quantify something, I would say it is my penchant to play erotic visual novels with no redeeming values simply to have completed them. OH, or clickers! I've mostly gotten over the habit now, but for years I definitely got into Cookie Clicker, Clicker Heroes, AdVenture Capitalist, and the like.

Generally speaking, I agree with you on guilty pleasures in that if you enjoy something (gaming, music, movies, etc), it's just a pleasure, so enjoy it! That being said, I do seem to get a lot of enjoyment out of playing terrible games haha! I suppose that's why I purchased Ninjabread Man a while back and why I have a fascination with the 3DO. Don't get me wrong, the 3DO does have some decent games, but I don't own many of them. I mainly own junk on it, but for some reason....I like that. The other one that might be considered a guilty pleasure is I love playing games that are waaaay under my age group. For example, I played the Woody Woodpecker platformer on PS2 last night for the first time. It was actually an okay game, though a bit boring for the 30 minutes or so I played. Then I got to the end of the second level and the difficulty spiked out of nowhere with the ever-awful 1 hit death traps. So maybe that wasn't actually meant for kids (or maybe I just suck at the game). But yeah, I love playing old platformers that were probably intended for young'uns. Punky Skunk is on my list of games to play :P

@stealthrush - I love that list! Lots of interesting titles in there, many of which I've been meaning to try out for curiosity's sake.

I guess to answer the original question, I tend to play lots of arcade-type games, although for awhile I was also hooked on terrible titles. Maybe Space Bunnies Must Die was one of my favourites. Sadly I'm also responsible for making a couple of stinkers in my previous life, but one must do what one must do.

Nowadays I tend to get hooked on a specific game for a period of time. So far the longest running title is Jeff Minter's GridRunner++ on Android.
I play nothing on tablets or a phone generally aside from Wordament, and yet this title has stuck with me. Absolutely fantastic, though I do wish they had a PC/Console version with proper controller suppport.
Otherwise 1982 on the PC is also a fun little "just one more game" title.

Space Bunnies Must Die...now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time! I didn't get a chance to play it when it first came out, but I have since picked up a big box copy that's sitting on my shelf. One of these days I'm going to actually play it...

Management sims, man. I've dumped way too many hours into games like Prison Architect. I've got a backlog six miles deep but I see Prison Architect in my steam game list and I'm there.
