Hi,

I was on the site less than a week ago updating playthroughs. Today I came back to add a completion and suddenly there's a Breath of the Wild bounty in my playthroughs. I can't remove it either. There's no active bounty for Breath of the Wild so I'm thinking this might be a bug?

Or if I somehow did this accidentally, is there a way to remove it?

Thanks

I checked out the data and it looks like you had accepted the bounty for Breath of the Wild back on April 22, 2017. If you want, I can cancel the bounty / remove the playthrough for you.

At some point, the bounty system will get a bit of a revamp and being able to clear out old, unused / partially used playthroughs is something I'd like to make available.

I'd love it if you could cancel the bounty. I just think it's weird that it has shown up just now. I wonder if I archived it or hid it or something?

Good luck with the revamp. I'm sure this is quite a project on your own.

Thanks Moho

Sorry for the delay, but this should be fixed now! I did not modify the playthrough, so I will leave it up to you if you want to hang onto it or remove it

Hey Moho.

Sorry to drag this back up. I accepted the SoM bounty awhile back and completed it on Monday. However upon completion I noticed there were TWO completions in my "my completions" list. I removed one and today when I went to update progress on SMT2 I noticed there's another SoM playthrough (with the 100% task completion attached to it) in "my playthroughs."

I was wondering if this was related to the same issue I had with BOTW.

Also, is this something I'm doing? I seem to be the only person having this problem which is why I'm asking.

I think this is a different issue. The one with BOTW was that you somehow had two playthroughs, which should never happen for a single bounty.

For this issue, here's what I think happened:

  • You accepted a bounty for Secret of Mana, which created a playthrough
  • You played the game and eventually entered a completion for it, but in doing so, actually created two completions (most likely from clicking on the Save button twice, possibly from the site moving slowly)
  • At this point, you had one playthrough that was (likely) archived (since that's the default action) and two completions, both of which were tied to the playthrough, which was tied to the bounty
  • When you removed the extra completion, it actually reactivated your playthrough, which is why it started showing up again in your list
  • And now that your playthrough is active, the bounty no longer thinks you completed it, which is why it shows "Accepted" as your status on the bounty page

We've ran into the "playthrough was reactivated after deleting a completion" issue in the past and while it's a little odd, we opted to not change it after some discussion. I'm torn on whether it should reactivate because I can see it working either way. Perhaps if you're deleting a completion that's tied to a playthrough, maybe you should be given the option to reactivate it or not?

But there's actually a bigger issue here which is that clicking on the Save button more than once will result in multiple completions. This is more or less how everything on the site works (and most other sites as well), but it's easy to accidentally click twice or think it's not responding (it happens to me too!) and not realize you entered multiple items. I've started to put protection around certain actions, such as when you're adding a Feed post, you'll see the Save button disable immediately. I'll implement this same behavior on the Add Completion modal, which should eliminate the duplication issue.

Ah-ha. So it WAS my fault.

And, it makes so much sense. Thanks for the explanation moho.

I'll be more careful... well with everything now.
