Everlasting Summer, huh? I've completed it a couple of times even before I knew it was translated into English xD
It was very popular and gave birth to a lot of memes back in 2010-s in Russia. Maybe it's worth completing this novel one more time, just for this bounty alone. I have to think about it.

Eh, I don't have very much interest towards this novel right now, but alright - I have to distract myself with some quick completions after focusing on "Fantasy Wars" that much. I'll do it for this bounty. See ya with a completion time!

Finished it last night. It took me 10h 24m, quite a while, actually.
As I said before, I had at most moderate interest in completing this novel once again, that's why I decided to shake the process up a little, to make it all a bit more meaningful: I switched from my native Russian language to English (which wipes your unsaved progress btw, be careful) just to improve my skills a little and to experience Everlasting Summer from a slightly different angle. Leave any doubts, this whole story makes much more sense for someone born in Russia (like me) or any of its neighboring countries. Rest assured though, English translation and localization of this novel are on the decent level, to say the least.
I was aiming to get Alisa's good ending but ended up with her bad one, which is at least something, I guess.
Just as in my first completion of Everlasting Summer 5-6 years ago (which I enjoyed more; I was 15 or smth then, duh), I kind of managed to underestimate its storytelling qualities. It always does not feel enough to see just one ending of Everlasting Summer, there are always some curious details that slip away (yeah, feeling this in my age kind of surprises me as well). And then my 100%-completing obsession springs to mind too... Nah, I think I might just try completing that Zhenya-centred official DLC one more time and righting my wrongs with Alisa, but that's probably it.
All in all, that's definitely quite a funny project. It's really hard to take seriously, especially for an adult person, but sometimes its storytelling, atmosphere, and music, they just strike you out of nowhere. The diversity of Completionator bounties at its best... I guess.
P.S. Yeah, I once again couldn't stay laconic... just as always, with almost any kind of matter... but I am also curious to know the reaction on this novel of players from different parts of the world. This can be really interesting.

I actually played this one a long while back. It's kind of interesting in being that it's a visual novel it captures that same sort of foreign-ness that anime has when you first start watching. There's a certain feeling that you aren't getting cultural references and such, but as the main character is disoriented by the Time travel thing, it puts you in sync a little bit. Miku is an obvious insert, Electronik basically tells you his name is a reference, and I later found out the Shurik was as well. Wouldn't surprise me to find out the other girls were as well.

Overall it was okay, but only did 3 routes I think. Lena (both), Ulyana, and I'm not sure if I finished Slavya's. It does read a bit generic for a Camp Mystery/Dating Visual Novel once you get past the Soviet-isims.
Can't say I disliked it, but the character's felt a bit one note. Electronik was probably my fovorite character, which is a bit of an issue seeing as it's supposed to be a summer romance story, but there were a couple times where I would have rather been goofing off with the boys playing with Retro-soviet technology.

I didn't do all the routes, but I've heard there's more if you do all of them. Unfortunately I didn't really have the patience for that.

Edit: Oh yeah, you wanted to know about reactions around the world. I'm Canadian, and not old enough to remember the USSR.

Huh, yeah, that's an interesting take on it, thank you for sharing. I guess this whole cultural reference theme has divided Everlasting Summer into two different novels in a way, for two different types of audiences. I think I would feel completely the same way if I happened to sink my teeth in a work of art that's based on another culture, unfamiliar to me,
