Description

Here's my list of completions for 2016. Thanks to Completionator, I've completed more games this year than probably any other year.

Shovel Knight

Shortly after joining Completionator, Shovel Knight showed up as a bounty and luckly I had just bought Shovel Knight a few weeks before. I loved everything about the game. The retro feel, the music, you really can't go wrong with this game.

Donkey Kong (1981)

Another bounty that was extremely easy to complete. I always love playing old classics like this.

Super Mario Bros. 2

When this showed up as a bounty I was super excited to play this again. I had only beaten the game once before using warp zones I'm sure. I took on the challenge and beat the game straight through. I was extremely happy I could completionate this one.

NES Remix

Wow another bounty...you can see I really dig the bounty system. I had already been playing this game prior to the bounty so I figured I would use this as an excuse to push through it. I ended up beating every level possible in the game. I wish I could have collected rainbow stars on them all but it would have taken a lot longer to do. Great game!

Super Mario Bros. 3

Yep another bounty! I've beaten this game several times in the past and was glad I could do it again this time. it's a classic that never gets old.

Super Mario World

Bounty! I was able to beat this without any warps or shortcuts but I wasn't able to complete all the available levels. Another timeless classic.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3

Surprise! Another Bounty! I played this game several times over the years but never really tried to beat it. With the pressure of the bounty, I was finally able to get all the way through this one. It sure would be nice to be able to collect all the emeralds in this game or any Sonic for that matter!

Sonic CD

Yep you guessed it, Bounty! I have beaten this game before and just like the first time, the second time was equally as easy to beat this one. The most challenging part was trying to collect the stupid emeralds the rest of the game is a cakewalk.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe

Finally a game I completed on my own without the pressure of the bounty handing over my head. This was a fun game and the first 3DS game I had beaten. Like Mario, you can rarely go wrong with a Kirby game.

Journey

Journey was short but a neat experience. I'd like to play it again to get more of the available trophies and to see what all I missed on the first Journey.

Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins

As mentioned before, I had played this games a few times but never got all the way through it. The game is good but extremely easy except for Wario's Castle. All of a sudden it turns freaking hard and I burned up tons of lives before I finally beat the game.

Grow Home

I had this game for a while but never got all the way up the vine. When I was looking for something that would have been a quick completion I started this one over. It's a really fun game with lots challenges as you climb up the vine. I highly recommend this one.

Splatoon

This is for the story mode of the game. It was fairly easy but I enjoyed it. Of course the best part of the game is the multiplayer game. I still enjoy the multiplayer even though the Splatfests are no longer being done.

Luigi's Mansion

Bounty! A classic that I've beaten once before and had just as much fun the second time around. I actually completionated this game since I was able to collect all the Boos. I could have gotten a bigger mansion but that would just involve grinding though the game more and collecting more coins and I don't have time for all that.

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon

The 3DS version of Luigi's Mansion was a little harder and longer than the original but was still fun. Nothing earth shattering about this game.

Demon Attack

After obtaining my old Atari 2600 games I thought I would fire up an emulator and play some of them. This is one of the more sophisticated games for the 2600 since the stages slowly increased in difficulty as you complete each level. It's a good game if you want a quick challenging game to play.

Superman (1979)

I had to play this one since I remember playing it so much when I was 4 or 5. The objective of the game is to change into Superman, fly around and capture the bad guys and put them in jail while avoiding the Kryptonite and also rebuild a bridge that was destroyed. It keeps track of the amount of time it takes to you complete the game. I remember playing it over and over trying to get a better time each time.

Pikmin 3

I had this game for a while and played it off and on before finally finishing it. I really liked this game. I hadn't played any of the other Pikmin games so I didn't know what to expect. I really enjoyed the world and enjoyed having to plan out a strategy for each of the different kinds of Pikmin there were. Highly recommend!

Adventure

This is another Atari 2600 game that I remember playing a lot when I was 4 or 5. This is considered one of the first RPGs where you try and find an item and return it to your castle while avoiding the evil duck dragons. It was neat to play this again as an adult and I was surprised how it was still just as difficult as it was playing as a kid.

Pac-Man (1980)

I completed this for the Steam Winter Sale challenge. I played the Atari 2600 version all the time when I was young. This exact version is one of my earliest memories I've had with gaming. Sitting on the floor with joystick in hand looking up at the floor model TV. Good times! I scored 1383 points on my latest attempt.
