The 2024 Completionator Community Top 10 voting has come to a close and I want to thank everyone who participated in the event again this year. Eight years ago we thought it would be fun to come up with our own video game awards that you, the members of the Completionator community, could vote on. Unlike other Game of the Year awards, the games people could vote for were for all games ever, not just those released in 2024. The only rule is the vote had to be for a game the person played in 2024.
This year we had 36 people submit votes (down 6 from last year) on 301 different games (down 22 from last year). The votes were given point values based on how the games were placed in the person’s stack. So first place received 10 points and tenth placed received 1 point. Any ties were broken by the number of votes the game received. Without further ado, we now reveal the 2024 Completionator Community Top 10!
10 - Elden Ring

Our 10th place game was the Completionator Game of the Year back in 2022, dropped off the list last year and makes it return at the 10 spot (thanks to some ties you'll see coming up). Surprisingly, the DLC, which is basically a whole new Elden Ring game, didn't make the list this year.
9 - Persona 3 Reload

The first of two Persona games has made it to the top 10 list. The remake of Persona 3, which was first released back in 2006, brings various graphical and functional updates that bring the game in parity with the series' later installments. It only made sense to remake this after the popularity of Persona 5. Does this mean Atlus will remake all of the other Personas? One can only hope.
8 - Persona 5 Royal

The second Persona game comes in at the 8th place spot. This is the second time Persona 5 Royal has made it to the top 10 list. The first time was back in 2020 on the 4th annual list. That year it came in 4th place. Back then we wondered if we will see a Persona 6 on the PS5. Not yet, instead we got another Persona 3, which I'm not mad at!
7 - The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

The first of only two Nintendo exclusives comes in at number 7 this year. The newest installment in the Legend of Zelda series was released this year and it came with many wondering if having Zelda take the lead would actually make for an interesting game. Well the Completionator community thinks so!
6 - Crow Country

The 6th place spot goes to Crow Country, a survival horror game that has a similar style to games from the PS1 era like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. If you haven't tried this game and enjoyed survival horror games way back in the PS1 days, be sure to give this a try.
5 (Tie) - Balatro

Our first of two ties! The first of the two 5th Place titles goes to Balatro. Balatro is a poker themed roguelike deck building game. Balatro was nominated for Game of the Year at this year's game awards and won Best Independent Game, Best Debut Indie Game and Best Mobile Game. That's a lot of awards for a deck building game. The second 5th Place game is Baldur's Gate III. This is the second year in a row Baldur's Gate III has made it to the top 10 list. This year it actually went up a place from 6th place. And for the second year in a row, this game has the highest rating on this year's list among all of Completionators users with an average user rating at 95%.
4 - Metaphor: ReFantazio

3 (Tie) - Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

We're at the second tie for this year. This time at 3rd place we have Final Fantasy VII Rebirth which is part 2 of the remake of Final Fantasy VII. This was another game nominated for Game of the Year at the Game Awards this year. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth won Best Score and Music.
3 (Tie) - The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The other 3rd place game was last year's Completionator Game of the Year and the second Nintendo exclusive, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It's completely understandable why this made the list again this year due to the massiveness of this game. It has taken some over 200 hours to complete this game! If you love Zelda, play this game!
2 - Astro Bot

In 2nd place comes one of the hottest games of the year, Astro Bot! If you want to get hit in all the nostalgia feels, play this game. You will take a trip back in memory lane with all the references to past playstation titles and hardware, plus the game play is just amazing. Astro Bot won Game of the Year at the Game Awards along with Best Game Direction, Best Action/Adventure and Best Family game. While Astro Bot didn't win the Completionator Game of the Year (I'm sure Sony is quite disappointed) you should still check this game out as it is a blast for everyone!
1 - Silent Hill 2 (2024)

This year's Completionator Top 10 Game of the Year is the 2024 edition of Silent Hill 2! This makes for the 4th remake on the list this year. If you've played Silent Hill 2 or any in the series you know what to expect but this time with a more modernized 3rd person camera system and an overhauled combat system. Silent Hill 2 was nominated for Best Narrative,, Best Score and Music, Best Audio Design, Best Performance and Best Action/Adventure but didn't win any awards at this year's Game Awards, but they don't know what's good anyway. :) This game showed up on 5 people's Top 10 lists and just beat Astro Bot by just one point. If you are looking for a great game to play, be sure and pick this one up.
