The 2025 Completionator Community Top 10 voting has come to a close and I want to thank everyone who participated in the event again this year. Nine years ago we thought it would be fun to come up with our own video game awards that you, the members of the Completionator community, could vote on. Unlike other Game of the Year awards, the games people could vote for were for all games ever, not just those released in 2025. The only rule is the vote had to be for a game the person played in 2025.
This year we had 37 people submit votes (up 1 from last year) on 296 different games (down 5 from last year). The votes were given point values based on how the games were placed in the person’s stack. So first place received 10 points and tenth placed received 1 point. Any ties were broken by the number of votes the game received. Without further ado, we now reveal the 2025 Completionator Community Top 10!
10 - Baldur's Gate III

Our 10th place game has made it to the Completionator Top 10 for three years in a row. It was 5th place in last year's Top 10 and 6th place in 2023. Will it make it for a 4th time next year? This isn't the only game that made it three years in a row. Keep reading to find out.
9 - Blue Prince

Blue Prince is a part roguelike part puzzle/adventure game. You play in first-person as a young heir named Simon P. Jones, who has inherited a mysterious mansion called Mount Holly Estate from his eccentric great-uncle, Herbert S. Sinclair. but with one condition: you must find the mansion’s secret 46th room to claim your inheritance. The game was nominated for Best Independent and Best Debut Indie Game at the 2025 Game Awards.
8 - Firewatch

The 8th place game is the oldest game on the Top 10 list since it was released in 2016. Firewatch is a first-person adventure/mystery game set in the Shoshone National Forest, Wyoming, in 1989 and centers on exploration, conversation, and atmosphere rather than combat or action. It was nominated for 6 awards way back in the 2016 Game Awards.
7 - Deltarune

The much anticipated sequel to Undertale made it to #7 this year. With the slow release of the different chapters, we may see this show up on the Top 10 for the next few years.
6 - Hades II

The sequel to the first Hades was also a game many looked forward to this year. This game continues with the roguelike action RPG genre that made the first so successful. The original Hades was the runner up on the 2020 Top 10 and Hades II debuted at #6. The game was nominated for Game of the Year at the 2025 game awards and won best Action Game.
5 - The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the other game on our list that has been here three years in a row. This game was a former Completionator Game of the year in 2023 and was 3rd place last year.

Donkey Kong Bananza was one of the most anticipated games in 2025 after the release of the Switch 2. Players love smashing through the game to find as many Bananas they can find. The game was nominated for Game of the Year at the 2025 Game Awards and won Best Family Game.

This year's runner up moved up 3 spots from last year. Balatro, the rogue like addictive card game was 5th place last year. If you haven't played this game, you should. It's a great game to pick up here and there and it's just satisfying to complete antes and build your Joker deck to ensure victory.

This year's Completionator Top 10 Game of the Year is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33! If you've been following anything gaming related in 2025, it should be no surprise that Expedition 33 is our Game of the Year. The game won so many awards that it actually has broken records. It won Game of the Year at the 2025 Game Awards and also won Best Narrative, Best Score and Music, Best Performance, Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Role Playing Game, Best Independent Game and Best Debut Indie Game. This game showed up on 7 people's Top 10 lists and gave it a decisive win over Balatro . With all the accolades this game has gotten I would expect this game to be on the Top 10 for several years to come. Be sure to check this one out!
