September Gaming Look Back

With my first month on the site coming and going in a flash, I thought it was a good idea to look back on how my gaming went in September.

Games Beaten in September
Sadly I did not beat any games this month mainly due to IRL (school mostly) taking up most of my time. I usually have a goal to try to beat a game once a month, and sometimes I can do it sometimes I cannot. I should be beating at least one game this month as I am close to beating one.

Games I have been playing
Norn 9: Var Commons

Platform: Switch
Current playtime: 145 Hours 14 (Estimated as there is no in-game timer)

This has been my main focus alongside the other games I have been playing. Mainly been in a VN kick this year because I spend most of my mornings downstairs taking care of my pets. This otome is a very interesting one where normally otome has one protagnist, and all the routes are the LI with that protagnist. This one actually has three main heroines with 3 guys each for their routes (including an extra route which has been touted to me as an epilogue) with 73% done with the game, and hoping to have it done this week as I’m writing this

Some of the collectibles in the game are very easy to get with a guide (which is normally how I like to do VN games), the only thing is one minigame that has to be done to finish off the Norn9 store. The store is basically where you get extra CG and an extra chapter for these routes, thankfully going through the routes allows the extra chapter for that certain character to be unlocked but sometimes not the other. That is where the Norn9 quest comes in because it allows the player to earn enough points to unlock the rest. The issue though is it's RNG and you can lose points from it but luckily if done right when like 6/10 routes are completed it will not have to be played again if rounds are done between routes which luckily only take 2-5 minutes.

The Legend Of Heroes: Trails Of Cold Steel

Platform: PC
Current Playtime: 116 Hours 14 Minutes (using an NG+ file)
Rating: 8/10 (might change once I finished the replay)

I don’t plan on harping too long on this game because it is a replay, but I enjoy this series a whole bunch. This was the first game that introduced me to the series, and now I’m going back and replaying these games after going through the rest of the series. This game is a very introductory game to the series because not much happens in it but I am finding joy in talking to all NPC and getting the cool background of the world is always a joy

This playthrough is also on the highest difficulty (nightmare), and I only brought over something that can't be used in a first playthrough, and it has been challenging in a fun way. These games normally have easy ng+ so that is why I took over nothing because I want that challenge in these games. I do not know if I will beat this in the month but knowing me I will try.

Purchases Of the Month
Yakuza Like A Dragon

&
Radiant Tale

Thought I included purchases of the month just because it is always nice too. I normally have a rule of beat 3 games then I can buy a new game (apart from exceptions). Yakuza LAD was a rebuy, and I was going to replay it after LAD: Gaiden but plans changed and I will be doing it this month so I will report on that in the October look-back. As for Radiant Tale, it will be on my wheel (i use pickerwheel to pick my next game after VN and other games) so I can't say when I get to it but I was told as a fan of RPG I will love it.

Wrap Up

So as I wrap this up, even though no games for beaten this month I still made decent progress toward it, and I should be able to get a game finished this month. Luckily school slowing down a bit this month so that means more gaming time coming up. So as that is my end hope everyone here has a good month.
