Anyone besides me a member at steamgifts.com? It's actually one of the rare no catch sites out there. I've won 28 games and 2 DLC over the past couple years there.

You don't have to give away games yourself, but I tend to give away keys that are extra from bundles.

In any event, if you aren't, I definitely recommend it.

Hrm, neat. I tend to give away my spare keys to friends or old guild buddies from my MMO days.
Might look into this next time I get a key for something and no one wants to take it off my hands. Or maybe I'll just post it here ;)

Have you played Krater yet? It looked kinda interesting, but I've heard mixed things on it.

I played it for a bit (for cards I think). I wasn't too impressed with the graphics, but it had some promise. I might reinstall it later.

I see you get points - how do you get more? The FAQ doesn't really tell you much on that. My guess is that the gradually regenerate but not sure.

You get points every time someone creates a giveaway on the site, even if its for a game you already own. I think it's something like for every $10 worth of game given away (Steam list price), everyone on the site gets 1 point, up to a maximum of 300.

I participated in over 300 give-aways and won 2, mainly because they were given away to members of a private group i am in. So the bets are normally like 1:1000 chances to win a game.
But it is easy to participate.

One of the tricks if you just want to win stuff is to be on the lookout for giveaways ending soon that don't have many entries.

The highest odds I ever beat (in giveaways where only one game was being given away) was actually the first game I won 4 days after entering the site, Krater. Something like 1600 entries or so for that one.

The Galactic Arms Race copy I won had about 29K entries in its give away, but they were giving away 25K copies, so the odds were still quite good. :)

The giveaways won screen used to show how many entries each giveaway had.

Since we have a lot of new people since I first wrote this post, I think it's worth reiterating again how awesome this site is for game collectors (and because it's fun listing all I've won). Especially that there's no gimmicks or catches to it. You just enter giveaways with points that automatically regenerate and it's all free except for whatever games you wish to donate.

Since I last listed my games won above, I've won:

Games:

  • Stronghold 3 Gold
  • 18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker
  • Snowcat Simulator
  • The 7th Guest (Oddly enough, I got the sequel The 11th Hour free on GOG in their "Insomnia Sale")
  • OlliOlli
  • Portal of Evil: Stolen Runes Collector's Edition
  • Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project
  • The Joylancer: Legendary Motor Knight
  • Back to Bed
  • The Cosmos is MINE!
  • Overture
  • Bad Rats: the Rats' Revenge
  • Fallen Enchantress - Legendary Heroes
  • Why So Evil
  • 8-Bit Commando
  • TeraBlaster
  • SUPER DISTRO
  • Bob Was Hungry
  • Shin Samurai Jazz
  • Hacker Evolution Duality
  • Jet Racing Extreme
  • Gunspell - Steam Edition
  • Skilltree Saga
  • Uncrowded
  • Dead Hungry Diner
  • Aviator - Bush Pilot
  • Eradicator
  • Gare Sapphire Mechs
  • Pizza Express
  • Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages
  • Red Lake
  • Unhack
  • Spaceport Hope
  • 16bit Trader
  • ShipLord
  • dUpLicity ~Beyond the Lies~
  • Game of Thrones
  • Manyland
  • The Glow

DLC:

  • Kung Fu Strike: The Warrior's Rise - Master Level
  • RPG Maker: Luna Engine
  • GameGuru - Death Valley Pack
  • Trainz Simulator DLC: Coronation Scot
  • Trainz Simulator DLC: Aerotrain
  • RPG Maker: DS+ Resource Pack
  • GameGuru Mega Pack 2
  • RPG Maker: Magnificent Quest Music Pack
  • GameGuru - Fantasy Pack
  • GameGuru - Buildings Pack
  • PAYDAY: The Heist Soundtrack
  • Axis Game Factory's AGFPRO Zombie FPS Player DLC

One of these days, I suppose I need to actually try making a game with all this game maker DLC.

I love Steamgifts, so far from entering 3,637 times, I have won...

Supraball
Sorcery 1&2
Hand of Fate
Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure
Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes
Dwarfs!? Quest for the Gauntlet
Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP

There is also...

https://www.indiegala.com/giveaways

Which isn't as good as SteamGifts, but I pop on there occasionally. From them I've won....

Particula
Gorky 17
Bridge Constructor Medieval
Forge of Gods: Infernal War (DLC)
Melissa K. and the Heart of Gold

Both sites are worth a quick daily log in to use your entry points. Takes no time at all.

Do you contribute a lot? I've started putting some giveaways up lately to work on my contributor level. Higher level giveaways have better odds of winning.

I've contributed mainly bundle stuff that I've already had. I've gotten to level 4.

I just found that site today. Put up a few contributions so far and entered a handful.

EDIT: One day later and I've already won a game :) Sixtieth Kilometer, a fairly badass looking VN. Great site.
