Oh my gosh. I beat the original back in the day. I'm not sure if I have the will power to do that again....haha

Turok was my first N64 game and I loved it, though I never finished it. If I remember correctly, I bought Goldeneye later that weekend and well...that was that. I also have the PC port (picked it up for a couple of bucks used somewhere) and surprisingly, it still works on Windows 7. But the FOV is kinda wonky (at least with my setup) and made it difficult to play. It sounds like they smoothed that stuff out though, so I have high hopes for this port.

Well, I finally got around to starting this one and it's pretty cool! It's a little pricey for a 20 year old game, but Night Dive did a nice job with it (so far, at least). There are lots of graphical options, including FOV and bobbing, which makes the game easier to play and less nauseous. I finished the first level and really enjoyed it. Hopefully I can stick with it hehe. My only complain so far is you can still only save at certain locations and some of the enemies respawn. Not deal-breakers by any means, but I wish they would've fixed those.

Looks like you finished it Moho! I want to play this at some point (again) but I'll wait until a Steam sale to offer it for a few bucks.

I did! I thought it was a very fun game, even if the nostalgia was strong with this one haha. As I mentioned before, I had it on N64 and never finished it. I maybe made it halfway through. I remembered the game being kinda hard, but really, I didn't have any trouble with this one. Within a few levels, I had 9 lives (the max) and 99 spirit token things (the max). I only lost 1 or 2 lives the entire game. The first boss was the hardest and the only one that even remotely got me close to dying. I think having 60 FPS, mouse + keyboard controls, and better draw distance made the difference. There's no way I could've beaten this on N64 now or in my prime hehe.

I used a guide to find some of the secrets since I figured this was the only playthrough I'll ever do, so having the Chronoscepter (or whatever it is) helped a lot for the last boss.

I never got used to the respawning enemies, which I find really annoying, but overall the game was worth playing. I don't know if it warrants a re-play if you beat it before (unless you really liked it), but if you like old school shooters and / or dinosaurs, it's worth at least one playthrough ;)

Oh and one thing I really liked was the music. I thought it set the mood quite well.
