Thanks for accepting this bounty! Here you can talk with other bounty hunters as you progress through the game and keep everyone up to date on your progress. |

So, I'd like to play this, as the game is phenominal. However, it seems like the patching tools to install various fixes and community mods to improve textures and whatnot doesn't want to run whatsoever on my system. So far, all I can figure is that windows 10 and the 6.1 ss2tool do not get along. If I get something working, I'll post here with an update in case anyone else has a go at this and runs into problems as well. |

No problems with the original version over here (GOG version). I don't have any mods installed however. [update] went ahead and installed ss2Tool v6.1.0.8 (https://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=4141) and it booted up nicely etc. It was a lot slower (on my laptop that is) so I guess high res etc was loaded. It looked a lot better. Used the perfect settings option when installing. Oh, and Windowws 10 running over here on an old NVidia 160M card. Will try it tonight on my home pc and report back.

I installed this game on my PC using Steam but haven't tried it out yet. All these bounties...not enough time to play everything! :( |

Hey, I moved Beyond Good and Evil back for you... I don't know why though. I think being in Florida this week is MORE than enough. Meanwhile, I'm here digging myself out of a bunch of snow.

I got it to install the mods, I had to use an older version of ss2tool though, I think 5.3 If I have time tonight after I get back from social obligations, I'll give this a whirl and make sure it's all launching properly, but I'm pretty sure I'm good to go now. |

I appreciate the move. I want to play through it when I return home. I want to play through this as well. I just need to realize that I can still play games AFTER the bounties are done. :) |

This is another big one on my list, but not sure I'll get to it this month. Especially after last week was a lost cause due to a stupid cold. I played it a few years ago and got pretty far, but I had to turn off the respawning enemies. I know they're in there for a reason, but it was still annoying, especially since you're so limited on ammo (or at least I was). |

So, as much as I loved this game in the past, it hasn't aged terribly well, even with the various updates and mods to improve the visuals. Decided to play on insanity because why not. I seem to recall the only major difference was increased costs for levelling and vendors. Running around with brawn implants and a slightly boosted starting strength means I can wrench everything easily enough for now, conserving pistol shots for the occasional security camera I can't dash beneath. I forgot about the mech that spawns at the end of the med/sci section before heading into engineering. That was... almost ugly. |

All right, engineering completed after an early failed attempt where I forgot melee against the robots was a bad idea. Peeking around corners was mind-blowing back in the day, and man it's such a lifesaver most of the time. Either for knocking out cameras early or to get in a couple quick shots against an unsuspecting enemy so you hopefully don't need to fight up close. Hybrids and monkeys continue to feel my wrench-wrath though. |

Haha, you're definitely braver than I am :P I thought that game was tough on Normal with the no-spawn mod. I'm getting the itch to play it though, might have to install it. Not sure I could finish it in time for the bounty, but this is something I've wanted to finish for so long... Reading your posts though reminds me how much I loved Thief: The Dark Project, which I think ran on the same engine? Man, Looking Glass Studios and Irrational Games made some awesome games. |

Fortunately, the enemies don't really get much harder on higher difficulties. Damage stays the same, hp stays the same, that sort of thing. Really, all the higher difficulty does is starve you for resources and prevent you from raising as many skills due to the increased costs (which in turn, makes some of the later enemies pretty tough since your stats will be lower overall.) If you're good at wrenching things, the early game becomes all about melee while you hoard as much ammo as possible for later while you wait for a few key pickups down the road to make life easier (Recycler anyone?) |

Hydroponics completed. I hate eggs. You either pop 'em and hope for worms and not spores, or you shoot from a distance and attract every enemy in the area (and waste precious bullets) |

The only thing I can positively say about the bounties is that even if I don't actually play the games when they're bounties, I do manage to install them if I own them and have the best intentions to play them at some point. Too many games. Not enough time. |

Haha, I'm having the same problem. Well, that and I've been hitting up other games with friends so it's hard to keep pace. I wanted to hit up Duke Nukem 3D, but I think I'll need a shooter break after System Shock 2 is done. Speaking of which! Just completed 4th deck ops. I could have done deck 5 recreation instead, and I think I did that last time, but I wanted to do the decks "in order" this go around. Just as things were getting dicey ammo-wise, I snagged both the crystal shard melee weapon (sooooo good, and the only thing worth investing points into exotic weapons for!) and a recycler so I can stock up on ammo and hypos by turning all these potted plants and magazines into money :P Also, cyborg assassins are just mean

Recreation floor complete. Oh god rumblers. On a side note, I saved myself probably a good 10 minutes by not bothering to hunt down the last digit for a passkey. I just guessed until I got it. Kind of want to get this over with now. Once you get the shard and a good supply of ammo, the game is just kind of repetitive. :P |

and the part of the game I remember disliking. The "run back and forth to old areas to do trivial crap" section... At least it's done now. Only... two? I think more levels to go, and iirc, they're both fairly short. Should have this done by tomorrow night! |

Just finished after a disastrous run through the second-last segment that required me to retry about 4 times. :/ I was not prepared! Thought I had enough health/radiation/toxin hypos, but nope, ran out on the first 2 runs before the boss, and then died again on the level boss due to getting stuck in a hole, lol. 4th run I played more carefully and blew through more ammo rather than risking as much close combat. Slightly ammo deprived, I got through it and carried through the last stage and that boss as well. Fortunately, no more retries! Also, I was reminded of the best ending ever. "Nah." lol |

Nicely done! It sounds like the fights toward the end were rather intense :P When you mentioned hydroponics before, I think that's where I made it the last time I played it. I'll eventually come back to this...eventually. |

All I gotta say is make sure you have a hazmat suit (or whatever it's called again) that'll reduce your toxic/radiation going in to the second last level. I really should have remembered that from playing before! |
