I know Mike is the leader of this site but I thought I'd ask the questions: What makes you return to this site? What things make you NOT want to return to this site? I'm asking these things because now with the Bounties being implemented, it almost feels like we have this whole new level of possible member interaction that might have been lacking before. I want more people to come back and be involved with these. They make getting through the games much BETTER because you can have that small dialogue about your overall progress. So I'm posing these questions with insights from longer term folks and those folks that join right away but maybe return very rarely or maybe not at all. We need to figure out that right thing to make people WANT to return and I figure this is as good of a shot as any.

The come one, come all attitude is a really big draw for me. I love the idea of a site where even the "management," so to speak, interacts with the userbase in an open and friendly way even if it only means having a dialogue on where the site could go or how it can improve. I was initially keeping my games list tracked at backloggery before this place even existed (as far as I'm aware) but outside of the fun customization options that exist there, I felt that feature-wise and community-wise it just wasn't interesting or engaging to me. Felt less like a potential community and more like a collection of private catalogues. The funny thing is, when I first came here, I was going to treat it pretty much the same way I treated backloggery, only with a fancier site layout. It was after putting in game addition requests and interacting that I discovered how nice it was and that interacting with the userbase of this kind of community could be really awesome and worthwhile. (At least, those of us who interact!) I see a great potential for this place mostly in part due to the way it's run and it makes me want to stick around and help it succeed however I can.

I think I was in a similar situation with Backloggery as you were @Dhobo. I liked the site but the community aspect of it was just not for me. I might be a bit biased from a community aspect on Completionator since I am friends with the creator of this site but still....it does seem a bit more engaging than Backloggery just from seeing activity from other folks on here. Plus, nothing against Backloggery, but it feels like there is MORE to this site than there. This site has bounties, the ability to log completion times (with some flexibility on how you add them), add if you've got a strategy guide for the games, difficulty, tags, actual box art for the games, and so much more. I hope we eventually get more regular people on here and would love to see them more engaged with the forums...especially the bounties.

Right now, my two main reasons to return to Completionator are adding my games library in and checking out the forums. While I find the bounties system quite awesome, there's often not enough time for me to sit down and play games in addition to ones I do for review (hence, you'll likely only ever see me take on bounties for short titles). The community aspect is a nice lure, as are achievements for simply using the site. Personally I am also a fan of checking the stats page and wonder if there are ways to add additional statistics. Not sure what those would be, but I just love looking at charts. :P At the moment Backloggery is still my most-used site for the simple fact that I have become accustomed to adding games there each time I get a new one. But what you guys have mentioned is true about that site: It's mainly about list-keeping. So far, Completionator is a good mix of that AND interaction with others. |

I think when this site first became available, I was in the same boat. But as time has gone on, I realized juggling between multiple sites was just too much trouble. So after a few updates on this site and the fact that I think it actually has more to offer, I decided to stick with Completionator. The other thing that I truly think makes this site unique is the Steam and GOG import option. I just wish I could somehow have the site import my physical collection in a relatively easy manner :P |

@Marcus - he is always looking for Bounty ideas so if you want to suggest a game that you are playing or going to play, I think he could accommodate and make it a bounty. Heck, since the system has been in place, I have played some games I never would have touched. Some good, some great, some bad, but it's still a fun time! |

Hello, I am new to the completionator website and I must say....this website is FANTASTIC!! I love it, it is everything that I have been searching years for in a gaming database. My question is why is this website such a hidden gem?? Why is this not the most popular gaming database out there?! |

The thing that got me to the site in the first place is just how easy it is to get new games added. Moho is all over getting stuff added very quickly. Plus, he's always been courteous and professional and generous. :) Nothing makes me want to leave the site. The only thing I could possibly think of to improve is that it'd be nice to have some kind of indication in the forums which posts are new, since sometimes (especially now with the bounties), there's more than 5 new threads by the time I visit. |

@WhitsEnd - Welcome aboard, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the site! Although the site may not be well-known yet, we have a great community here and hope you'll become part of it :) There are lots of other "competing" sites out there with large userbases, so I think it's just a matter of spreading the word and getting more users to at least try out the site. I feel pretty confident in our feature set here, so now it's up to everyone else to find us :D Out of curiosity, how did you happen to find the site? If you find any games missing from the database, feel free to post here on the forums. And if you have any other feedback, let me know! @boffo97 - I've considered tracking what posts have been viewed to make it easier to find new stuff, but I wasn't sure what the priority should be on it. I definitely think it's something that will need to be added at some point. However, I've hopefully helped the situation you described with the update I just pushed out :) The Home page now separates bounty threads into their own tab, so they don't fill up the list. It's especially bad when I dump 3+ bounties at once like I did the other day haha. |

I came to this site because of a post jwcooley made on my work's internal social media site. This is the first game logging site I have ever been to. Since joining the site I have completed several games that I wouldn't have gotten around to completing so quickly thanks to the bounties. I like how the site is constantly improving and how the site owner interacts with the users and accepts feedback from the users. |

I just found this site yesterday, and love it. The bounties are awesome and the Mercenary Guild is a really great idea. Looking forward to working on the backlog. Can't thank you enough for all the incredible work here moho_00! |
