Thanks for accepting this bounty! Here you can talk with other bounty hunters as you progress through the game and keep everyone up to date on your progress. |

I bought this game around Christmas in the Nintendo E-Shop after it went on sale. I heard about Shovel Knight several months ago but didn't think much of it. When I heard some of the music from the game (I listen to a lot of video game music at work - makes my work more interesting) it really made me interested in the game. I was already 3 hours into the game when the bounty started. I'm now already almost 4:30 into the game and I'm really enjoying it. I love the retro feels the game gives off, from the music to the controls it feels like an advanced NES game. I have completed 9 of the 45 feats (achievements) so far and I doubt you could get all 45 in the first pass of the game or ever. I think one is beat the game without ever dying - good luck with that! |

Sounds like they went with the mega man 9 / 10 playbook regarding challenges. The no death / no hit ones are brutal. |

I started playing Shovel Knight today and I agree, it's a very nice game. I've played about two hours so far and I just unlocked the "Halfway" achievement, so I guess I'm halfway through the game :P I have 6 Feats so far. So far the difficulty has been perfect. It's a tough little game, but that makes sense, considering what it's trying to be. But it's not been frustrating yet. It feels a lot like Rogue Legacy, but I was constantly frustrated in that one and ultimately never finished it. Hopefully this one stays in that sweet spot of "tough, but fair" difficulty for the second half. I have a copy of it on Wii U, as well as the Shovel Knight amiibo. But, of course, the collector in me kept those sealed and I bought it on PC since it's on sale, ugh!

I wouldn't worry about breaking out the Amiibo. I think the only purpose for it for Shovel Knight is the ability to play 2 player. It looks cool though. |

Rogue Legacy was difficult but I still felt it was fair. I did manage to beat that one. This game seems very fun. I might have to take up that Humble Bundle offer. |

Just played another hour and took down another boss and a traveler. I now have 11 feats completed. Some of the feats are fun, especially those that involve completing a mini-game like the Impress Mona feat. It looks like there are three more stages to go and I'm assuming the final stage after that. The stages are getting harder but it doesn't seem too hard. I do like that there is no "Game Over" on this game, but I do stress out trying to find the next checkpoint. The music on this game is great, it's what drew me to the game in the first place. |

I started playing this a couple of days ago, I only got far enough to beat the first boss, but it seems fun. I should have more time this week to do more in the game. I also have the Wii U version and amiibo. I'll have to force one of my friends to try the 2 player mode. |

Another hour in and took down another boss and two more travelers. I'm up to having 14 feats done. I have also collected 23 of the 46 music sheets. |

Another hour and I got through two more stages. It looks like there are two remaining. The end is near. |

I've only managed to play one level (Mole Knight) since my last post, but I really struggled with it! The level really wasn't that difficult, but I died like 10 times trying to figure out how to STOP pointing your shovel down once you get going. I ended up just hitting attack to break the cycle. I was getting screwed at the part where you have to break two blocks, then drop down to a platform that crumbles once you shovel it (and has an enemy on it too). Once I got through that, it was smooth sailing hehe. |

Spent an hour and a half on it tonight. Got so close to finishing it. I didn't reach the final boss but i was inches away. It got too late so I'll try again hopefully tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to having to replay the final level...it's pretty hard (as it should be). moho - it took me a while to figure out how to stop pointing the shovel down too. I still die from it from time to time.

Just completed the game! 10hours 9 mins. Ended with 29 of 46 music sheets. It was a really fun short game. The final battle was a little tricky to figure out what to do but after a few deaths I figured it out. On to the next game! |

Congrats! Since you only had two suits, was there a particular one you used the most? Most of them seemed interesting, but potentially situational :P I'll hopefully be able to get back into it this weekend! |

It was the red one. The one that caused you to lose less gold when you die. I just never got around to buying the others. |

I spent about an hour today in the co-op mode. I don't know how much it really adds to the game. While it's far from unplayable, players can bump into each other slightly, making platforming and bottomless pits more annoying than they should be. And if one player dies, they can come back... But it doesn't give you any extra health. The player who didn't die loses half their health, which goes to the resurrected player. Fair, but frustrating when you're playing with a not so great player. |

I'm down to one level...I think. I've been having a tough time with the instant death segments (of which there are many), but still enjoying the game. I just hope I can make it through the last level :P I didn't comment on this before, but I agree with you @tarzanslam, the music is really good in this game. It's very Mega Man-esque. That's disappointing to hear about the co-op, but I guess it's in-line with 8-bit mentality. Battletoads co-op is bruuuuuutal! |

Finally beat it. Took me roughly 9 hours. Some of those platforming sections get rough at the end. Very enjoyable game, though. |

I finally went back and finished the last level. It wasn't too bad, but I was expecting something ridiculous. The first part of the level was the hardest for me. After finishing it, I replayed a couple of levels to get some gold and buy some of the stuff I was missing, but that seems like it's going to take a long time, so I'm done for now :P |
