Hey everyone!! I have recently started a YouTube channel and I would love to throw a shout-out sometime for this website...would that be something I need to get approved?

Nope, no need to get anything approved, so feel free to give the site a shout-out whenever you want! What's the link to your YouTube channel? I tried clicking on the link from your Overview page and it didn't seem to work. There might be a bug there I need to fix :D |

Thanks for trying to check it out, I appreciate it! Not sure which upcoming video I will do the shout-out but I definitely will in an upcoming one :) My YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzg5UMJ62uoKHTkq5bgkp5g Thanks again!! If anyone wants to subscribe that would be great too ;) Not using this platform to advertise my YouTube page just figured I'd throw it out there lol. |

Cool channel! I watched the SNES video and the only complaint I have is it reminded me how many great games I haven't played for that system :P It looks like I need to switch Completionator to use the /channel/ URL for YouTube. It appears as though they've switched to that instead of /user/. Guess I'll add it to my list! |

I didn't get into the 16-bit era until like 1994, I think. I picked up a Sega Genesis since that's what most of my friends had and the allure of borrowing games was too strong. I loved the Genesis, but I still remember wanting to play soooo many SNES games. Super Castlevania IV was a big one for me since I had played the first 3 on NES. To this day, I still haven't played that one....and pretty sure my skillz are no longer good enough to actually play it haha. Illusion of Gaia and Earthbound were games I didn't know much about back then (hey, this was before I had the internet!), but they looked right up my alley. I've since played Earthbound a bit (made it about halfway through) and it's a fantastic game, just need to finish it. I have yet to try Illusion of Gaia. I had the Nintendo Power issue that covered Secret of Mana and I remember drooling over that one. Still haven't played it. I did actually play 3 SNES games back in the day quite a bit: Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, and NBA Jam. I would beat Super Mario World pretty much anytime I visited my cousin's house haha. I think I've posted about The 7th Saga before, but that one always stood out to me in Nintendo Power. I was a Dragon Warrior kid and it was a new RPG from Enix. And then there's Link to the Past, which I still haven't finished. But I think above all of them, there's one game that stands tall. SUPER METROID I absolutely need to play that game. In fact, this thread might inspire me enough to actually try it next week for my birthday :D Other games I really want to play:
Ahhhhhh!!

In my family we unfortunately skipped from the NES right to the N64. I actually didn't get a Super Nintendo until I was in high school (at which time the Nintendo Wii was out) when I bought it off a friend for $50 (I think I said that in the video?). But I seriously missed out on so many great games too and now I am trying to make up for lost time haha. Funny you mention Super Metroid, I actually beat that for the first time right before Christmas. All I can say is WOW. It deserves all of the praise it gets. It shouldn't take you too long to beat, I think I clocked in finishing it somewhere between 6-8 hours. The three games I am desperately trying to get my hands on are: |

The six games you mention are ALL awesome. I would say that OOT is probably my favorite game of all time too....if not, pretty damn close. Awesome video! Edit: BTW, the N64 controller is one of the best out there. I don't care what anybody says!

Agreed, I've been enjoying the videos you've been posting and loved seeing The Guardian Legend pop up :D I also enjoyed the Joe and Mac video. I thought that game looked awesome in Nintendo Power back in the day, but I've not played it much myself. I have it on the Data East collection on Wii, but it's reaaaaally hard :P |

Thank you guys so much for the support!! I really have a lot of fun making the videos and hearing some positive feedback makes it all worth while!! My hope is that my shout-out video helped get this website even a tiny bit more recognition. I did notice two people that I know start an account after the video, so I was happy about that! |
