I bought this game on a recent Humble Bundle a few weeks ago. This is one of the first bounties I've done where I've had no experience at all with the game prior to the start of the bounty. It looks like a fun game and after about an hour in, I really like it. I'm not used to playing a game where a large portion of the game is story lines. I need to still get used to tactical games like this, because I'm struggling a little with the battle system but I think I'll get the hang of it.

This is a really good game and definitely one of my favorites from the PS3 / 360 era. It was actually one of the main reasons I originally bought a PS3. It can be challenging at times, especially on your first playthrough, but there's always a strategy to the missions that you can discover to make things easier.

I loved the battle system, but the one thing I didn't like was no matter how sneaky I was, I always seemed to take a lot of damage just getting into "shooting" mode. I don't mind that it's real-time and enemies can fire at me, but man, don't take so long pulling up the scope!

Did this ever get an update on the PS3 to add trophy support?

I don't know if the original one ever received trophies, but I'm pretty sure the Remastered version on PS4 has them. The Steam version has achievements.
