Wow finally a reason to get to play this game. I purchased this on PSN a few years ago during a Square Enix sale. I picked up every Playstation era Final Fantasy. I can't wait to play this one.

I finished this one when it was first released and it's my second favorite game in the series, right behind Final Fantasy VII. I've been playing the Steam re-release, so I might try to join this one as well :D

How has everyone's quest been going? I haven't had much time to play, but I'm about 5 hours in and I just arrived in Lindblum. I love the characters in this game.

I need to quit trying to play this late at night. Playing RPGs at night always puts me to sleep.

The other night the controller kept slipping out of my hands when i dosed off.

Haha it's funny you say that. Back in like 2001 when I was in college, I was playing Final Fantasy V on PS1 and although I was really enjoying it, I would end up playing it really late at night. One time, I quite literally fell asleep playing it and when I woke up in the middle of the night in a groggy state, I turned off the TV and managed to crawl into bed. The following night, I was excited to continue my journey and after turning on my TV, I realized my PS1 was still running and I was actually in the middle of a battle!

Of course, I ended up getting screwed by that game because you get to a castle that requires you to use the spell Float (otherwise you take a ridiculous amount of damage), which I didn't have. And after reading the guide at work (I worked at EB), I determined it was un-possible for me to actually get that spell given the area I was in (you travel between worlds). So I gave up. I had a similar experience with Final Fantasy VIII, but that's a story for another time...

Hmm..I should revisit Final Fantasy V though, I really enjoyed it.
