I know we have some new users here that have shown an interest in the VGPC integration, so I think it's time for me to throw out an idea I've had for a while and see what everyone thinks.

Right now, you can view your total estimated value on your Overview and Collection pages, as well as individual game value on your Collection page. What I'm thinking is we could have a separate page that lets you dig into the VGPC values at a higher level. I'm just throwing out ideas here, but here are some things we could display:

  • A breakdown between all platforms, so you could see what platform is the most (or least) valuable. This could be a pie chart or the little bars that we use in various places.
  • Your top 5 (or whatever number) most valuable games
  • A breakdown between conditions, so you could see how much your "new" games are worth vs. complete vs. loose

What do you guys think? Is there anything specifically related to the VGPC integration that you'd like to see?

Love the idea Moho!! Will this be pretty difficult for you to implement?

Nah, none of the stuff I listed should be very difficult :D Generally speaking, with report-type stuff like this, it's pretty easy until you start allowing interaction with it.

I think this would be fun. Personally all I asked for was a plain old total value, but admittedly it would be quite neat to see the breakdown (even though it's still all 'estimates').

You guys may have already seen this, but I added this report last week :D I included it in the release notes, but forgot that I wanted to update this thread as well...so...now it's updated :P

How do I access the report? I can't find it. I'm trying to quickly see a list of my most valuable games, from top to bottom based on VGPC.

@Cliff - It's the Value Analysis report under the My Reports menu item. Unfortunately, it won't be useful for what you're looking for since it's at a platform-level. However, if you go into your collection and sort by Est. Value, that should get you what you're after. You might want to filter down to physical and NTSC-U since those are the only ones that can have prices set.

As a side-note, I really need to load in new VGPC data...

How often do you do that? Some of these values have changed a lot...

And all that worked for me. I think my problem was that I am on mobile.

Is there not something you can set up that pulls VGPC data automatically once a day or something?

Access to the VGPC API isn't free, unfortunately, so daily updates aren't terribly feasible.

As @dhobo said, it's really comes down to VGPC costing me money :P

That being said, I still need to load the prices in with better regularity. I went ahead and purchased some new data today and it should be loaded in now. A recent VGPC change was that they no longer track PCWORLD game values, so those will all show as empty now :(
