So... how long is this game? I've had it staring at me forever and am curious about it.

It looks to be about 10 hours or so. I've heard it's pretty tough too.

Before it came out, I was really hyped for this game. I was a HUGE fan of the original Tomb Raider and Eidos really pushed this one. I didn't end up playing it back then, but I have it on GOG now :D

Oh no, hard games... Well, I might as well give it a shot regardless.

Let me know how if it's still playable, it might motivate me to give it a whirl :P

I see it's on Steam. I see that it is hard. I see that it looks terrible. I see the bounty and somehow it's making me want to purchase and try it. NEED to resist!

It's on sale at GOG for $1.49 right now :P https://www.gog.com/game/deathtrap_dungeon. I've been wanting to give it a run for a long time, so now might be the time.

I'll give a GOG key to the first person that wants one while it's on sale, if you're brave enough to take this bounty!

I found a longplay that was just uploaded a few weeks ago. It's the PS1 version, but I think they're essentially the same thing. I haven't watched enough to know if they used cheats or glitches, but it only took them about 5 hours. I assume they knew what to do though :P I kinda want to play it now...

Haha I don't know if it can be considered a glitch, but they definitely beat the T-Rex (or whatever) boss by letting it get stuck on another model and just blasting it with fireballs. I've definitely done similar things in other games :D

Another thing I'm noticing is the music is really ambient / atmospheric. It seems to fit really well considering you're roaming around dungeons.

I'm brave enough to take this bounty. I have a disc copy but it doesn't seem to want to play nice with Win 10 :/.

I've got Deathtrap Dungeon. Thanks Moho!

Edit: Had a bit of a time getting the GOG version to run on Windows 10 (dunno if Steam version has the same issue). In any case, gonna share what I did here in case anyone else decides to go for Deathtrap Dungeon.

  1. Removed NGlide (a 3Dfx wrapper used by some GOG games) related files from the GOG game directory (3DfxSp1.dll, 3DfxSp12.dll, 3DfxSpl3.dll, glide.dll, glide2x.dll, glide3x.dll, MSS32.dll, SST1INIT.dll).
  2. Installed the latest version of Nglide: http://www.zeus-software.com/downloads/nglide
  3. Went to the Nglide compatibility page and downloaded their Deathtrap Dungeon patch. http://www.zeus-software.com/downloads/nglide/compatibility

The game finally worked after that!

Ouch, that sucks! At least you were able to get it to work. It's weird, the GOG page says it supports Windows 10.

I tried the game out briefly last night and I think it's something I'd be interested in playing....but I really don't like having to use save points >:(

I don't like the whole save point thing either, but just am leaving the game on in a safe spot when I wanna do something else ;P.

Hmmm... I didn't have any trouble launching it from GOG myself (Windows 10 here too). But I can't seem to figure out where the hell to go in the room with the checkerboard bridges lol.

Edit: Scratch that, figured it out.

I wonder if you had the same problem I did :P. Hidden doors/elevators are my downfall.

Exactly. You're standing on an elevator and have no idea until you just press the use button lol. The controls are killing me. Almost beat the Circus level... almost.

I can't quite tell if it's really difficult, or if I'm just terrible at it. But I'm not making much progress, lol.
