Anybody planning to see this?

I didn't care for MoS, thought BvS was okay...trying to decide if I need to spend the money and see this in theaters or wait for the Blu Ray release.

I'll be waiting on a digital rental or whatever for this one as well. Not terribly impressed with DC's track record on film to justify spending theatre money on this movie.

Tread lightly @jwcooley! I'm the biggest fan of MoS and BvS (the biggest Supes fan here...I used to run around in capes xD) and ready to argue to the death about why they were so awesome!

I take all these new movies with a grain of salt, take them as they are, and enjoy them for the most part. It's exciting to see our favorite characters coming to life...so what if it's speckled with a little Hollywood? It's going to happen no matter what, but I think what they have going on right now isn't horribly bad at all, and if you can look past certain flaws then I'm sure Suicide Squad won't really disappoint me.

I actually appreciated MoS more after watching BvS just because of the premise behind why Batman came into the picture. I was really afraid they were just going to ignore all the destruction and move on.

I did like that they explored Krypton more in MoS than they have in any other movie/TV show that centers around Superman. I did enjoy the action towards the end but felt that they drew it out way too long. I also wished that Lex Luthor would have been in the movie just a little bit. Seemed odd that one of the biggest villains that most people have heard of in the Superman universe wasn't in it at all. I know the story centered around Superman and Zod, but I think they could have still have Luthor in the picture to an extent.

I will say that I think that Affleck did just fine as Batman considering how much flack he has gotten since they announced he would be the caped crusader.

Have you watched BvS since it released with the extra stuff they cut out of the theatrical release? I've heard it adds more context to a lot of the stuff that didn't make sense to me. I might watch that version and see if BvS grows on me.

Yes, I'm glad that the total amount of destruction was the main point of the plot and Batman's origin since it is a reoccurring theme in the actual comic book universe. They hit the nail on the head with Batman's philosophies, too. It was realistic and very human the way he reacted to all of the chaos.

That was what drew me in to the movie so quickly. How well Krypton was done is absolutely stunning. That whole beginning bit still gives me chills when you see how vast the landscape is, and how well they captured the result of the inevitable destruction that was to come. You could almost feel how weak the planet was. I loved it.

These are all powerful aliens slugging it out on our planet, the destruction was realistic, and the duration made sense to me considering how powerful they actually were. I think they really wanted to people to grasp that sense of being.

That seems to be a reoccurring argument about the film, but I can see why they did what they did. Since it was mostly an origin tale, centering the plot around Kryptonians seems like a better move. In the comic book universe even, Superman and Lex started out as friends more or less (or at least not enemies) and that was more or less during his initial time as Superman. So I don't think chronologically it was the right "time" to bring out Lex. Plus, he would have been too irrelevant considering how powerful Zod and the others were. He wouldn't be conceived as any type of threat when you put the two villains side by side.

Not yet, but I have purchased the Blu-Ray and am waiting for a good day to sit down and watch it :). Needless to say, I'm very excited to see what was left out from the theatrical release. It's going to clear a few things up, I'm sure. I'll let you know my thoughts on the extras afterwords!
