Here are a few questions I had when looking at a Game Details page. Usually don't spend much time on these pages but now that I've looked at one I have some thoughts. 1) I entered a completion time for Street Cat. http://www.completionator.com/Game/Details/28348 The page reflects this by saying "1 completion time" but also "0 Total Finished." Why is total finished also not incremented by 1? To me it would make sense that if a game is marked as Completed by the user, that it is also Finished. However, a game that is Finished would not count as a Completion. As an aside to this, on the Resident Evil page it states 1 Completion time and 2 Total Finished. 2) Maybe it's just me but I feel that the average user rating would be better surfaced at the top of the page by the name. Most sites with user/other aggregate scoring mechanisms tend to place scores up around there. As is, I have to scroll below the fold to uncover the average rating. 3) I find the three horizontal colored bars on the Game Details page confusing up front. Yes, when you hover over them it explains what they mean, but maybe there is a better way of visually explaining the data. Can't think of anything though, lol. :( Also curious what is causing this calculation error (found it on Resident Evil) http://www.completionator.com/Game/Details/1404

1) The reason for this is because the "total finished" pulls from the Progress Status field on collection items. It combines "Finished" and "Completionated" to come up with the final number. Completion times do not impact this number at all. Trying to combine the two can get a little messy, though not impossible to solve. I agree that the "Total Finished" label might be a little misleading since it includes "Completionated" as well. The second bar below those numbers is supposed to breakdown the progress statuses, but it's apparently not working (at least not on Resident Evil)....grumble, grumble 2) I agree, the rating should probably move up towards the top of the page. Paging @dhobo hehe 3) The bars are tough because we used to have them as pie charts and they looked great...but take up sooo much space. I'm open to other ideas for displaying this data. |

Thanks for your helpful responses, moho_00 :). In regards to 3.... I'll keep thinking about that, but off hand it is hard to imagine what would look nice there. Yeah, pie charts are great but if we need to worry about space then it's harder to come up with something different. The closest thing I can think off immediately is that Backloggery does basic bars too but they have symbols and such which have become very well known within the community (ie, "B" for Beaten and "C" for completed, etc). It's also not the same exact implementation as us, so weh. |

I'll work on a revamp to re-order things on the details page while I'm working on the overview concepts. I had some ideas that popped into my noggin during the overview discussion that could work well for improving the details layout a bit.
