Season 8 is about to begin : Friday, October 21st

As always it somehow lures me back and this time it will be no different.
I'll probably start a Female Monk to level up to level 70, I already have a male Monk which was my first ever hero back when D3 was just released. He isn't even level 70 as it then took a lot of grinding.
Rewards are again only gear and inventory space. No pets or anything this time.

Seasons are, unfortunately, not available on console versions. Curious..

I also still have a Hardcore Wizard running around, perhaps level him up a bit. Wizards are I think the easiest class once you got the Disintegrate spell.

Anybody else getting into D3 again?

As for MP, i'm a solo player as I cannot schedule gaming time. But solo'ing is fun enough, even after all those years.

What are seasons? It's been a while since I played Diablo III on PC, but I played through the PS4 version last year and enjoyed it quite a bit. This game is definitely NOT something I need to be getting into again :P

Seasons are just character resets if you want to play on the competitive ladders for the most part. They introduce some new items and you can get rewards for doing certain things, ranging from cosmetics to more utilitarian stuff and I think gear? I don't play on PC though, so I'm not as knowledgeable on it as I could be. Consoles tend to get some of the seasonal content, usually the new items/cosmetics, but the competitive ladder stuff and whatnot doesn't happen.

As dhobo said, it's mainly extra stuff and ladders. To participate you need to create a hero or reset a hero. The last because you have a limited set of heroes and that way you can participate. After the season ends you get all your equipement back that you had before you did reset the character.
Seasons resets are two or three times per year, and it is a good way to enjoy the extra features and stuff Blizzard add, which has been pretty much. And i'm pretty sure a seasonal character gets to level up a bit faster than usual.

Seasons are PC only but some features and goodies bleed into the console updates. I got both PC and PS4 versions and they both play very differently. That is on PC it's keyboard\mouse only and on console controller which makes a lot of difference playstyle wise. Blizzard has both of them nailed pretty good. On PC you tend to take a bit more risk as you can react faster and you are more precise, the console is less frantic and you play more conservative so you tend to use buffs and your companion more. So I will dive into the PC version to create a killer Monk, and after that pick up the console version to finally level a normal hero up to level 70. Already got one hardcore lvl 70 which was quite fun to do.

The downsides are that all my other playthroughs are stalled during the next 3 weeks or so and that I get to bed way too late...

I've been playing on the PS3/PS4 from the start, but I just started on PC. I started a regular and seasonal barb for now, my preferred character. I honestly prefer to play with a controller to a mouse but I also want to participate in seasons. We'll see how it goes. Glad the seasons are finally coming to console,

Yeah, controller play is definitely more relaxing than keyboard+mouse. They just nailed it. So it good to hear seasons (and all other stuff!) is coming to console in 2017

I was pretty surprised by how well they managed to make a Diablo game and have a controller work as well as it did.

I don't know if I prefer one over another but having both is great since I have friends that play only on the PS4 and some that only play PC.

I had my doubts about playing a Diablo game with a controller, but I completely abandoned D3 on pc after playing it on the ps4. Only a smattering of skills are worse off due to the controller targeting mechanics, but it's made up for by the fact that it ends up being way more fun to play over all.
