Anybody tried this out yet?

I just started a trail period and it works quite well actually. I never owned a PS3 so cherry picking some of the games to try out:
- God of War titles
- ICO
- Shadow of the Colossus
- White Knight chronicles
- Tokyo Jungle
- Killzone 1-3
- Infamous
- Ratchet and Clank

Others like Last of Us and Heavy Rain already have made it to the PS4 or are available on PC or XBox(360) so these are imo the most interesting.

Nice bonus is that any trophies earned here are transferable to your main account. You can play both on your PS4 as well as on a PC with a PS4 controller hooked.

In the end I probably subscribe for 1 or 2 months just to play some games.

I tried it out a while back when I was with my previous ISP with a very shaky connection and I found the input lag to be unbearable at the best of times for games requiring precise timings. Maybe it's better now, especially with a better ISP on my end, but it certainly didn't seem worth it to me when I already have a ps3.

That said, the list of games available is pretty decent if you're not already an avid collector of playstation games.

Only thing I don't see on your list (you've pretty much cherry-picked all the good stuff already!) are the Sly Cooper games that I would recommend giving a try.

I wish I could use PlayStation Now to play my purchased PS3 digital games on the PS4. Or heck, even my PS Plus PS3 games on there.

Bloodborne wouldn't be a PSNow game, since it's a ps4 game. The point of PSNow is mostly for ps3 games and some other digital titles. ie: Half-ass backwards compatibility solution that Sony could siphon more money from it's userbase with.

Yeah, I guess I misread it as also having PS4 games, it makes more sense now, but still, I hope they add PS4 games at one point in the future since I already own a PS3 and I really want to play that specific game :P

I wonder how well they could pull that off since a lot of ps4 games make use of the trackpad in some way. I don't know how they'd make it work with a dualshock 3 on the ps3, probably impossible or so unwieldy that it's not feasible.

Thanks dhobo for pointing out the Sly Cooper games, they indeed look fun to play.

White Knights are looking good, but will take too long (50+ hours). The rest should be <15 hours to complete so i'll probably pick a month to play some.

And for Playstation Now you must have a Dualshock 4 controller attached so if at any point they add PS4 games, it should work nicely.

True, but how would that work if you're using PS Now on a ps3? I didn't think the dualshock 4 controller worked properly with that console. Or did they scrap the idea of putting that service on the ps3? I obviously haven't kept up to date on this! lol

Just checked the spacs and it is only for PS4 and PC. So no PS3 support.

Well there it is. Makes sense though, they wouldn't want people buying ps3s to eventually play ps4 games on psnow (if that ever becomes a thing) when they want them buying ps4s.

Today was the last day of my free Playstation Now and I liked it. I liked it so much that I decided to buy a PS3 instead haha.

Reasoning : I can buy one very cheap when turning in some 20 xbox360 games (which I have digitally already) . In January there will probably will be another PS3 PSN sale and I can pick up almost all games I liked. And then have enough time to get to play them on my own pace and in my own time. The thing that tipped me was that Demon Souls is available on PSN, and can probably be picked up for €5. When hunting for a second hand (disc) version I end up paying way-way more.
So hopefully I have it sometime next week, excited! Going for a super slim white model with 500Gb disc space. That should do it.

Thankfully ps3 games don't have the beastly install sizes of current gen games, so 500gb should be oodles of room for you.

Probably a smart move. There are so many good games on the PS3 that I'm sure weren't on the PlayStation Now.

Playstation Now is also pretty expensive. € 16,99 over here, so something around $18 per month which is a lot. The performance was pretty OK overall. The games started within 30 seconds most of the time, and the framerate was always good. Only when things got really active on screen or fast like in Infamous, you could see artifacts and see a drop in quality. Never have I experienced a drop in framerate, at least not one that was noticable. The controls and lag were also almost non-existant. I sometimes felt that the controls were slow to respond, but that could also have been the game itself. Shadow of the Colossus was sometimes hard to navigate. And in GoW I sometimes felt Kratos jumped too late. But it could also be me being too slow ;-)

Overall, it is a pretty good service and recommended if you got the money for it.
