Gadzooks folks. Do we have any theories out there on what's going on here?

Your character is clearly being controlled by something. The thing I haven't decided is whether it is a person (you're clearly expendable to the humans you cross in-game) or the blob (which apparently needs you disabling those electrodes so it can escape).

I know there's an ending I don't have yet because I've not gotten all of the secret items. I'm wondering if that affects it?
