Has anyone else been having trouble trying to add a game to the collection?

When I click the "Add Game To Collection" button on the Collection page, it links to www.completionator.com/Collection/Details and I just see the Evil Banana.

I don't know for sure when this started, since I haven't added any in a while; I noticed when I tried to add a game Saturday.

Yeah, something's definitely broken. It's not just you.

Ack! I see what's happening. I will push out a hotfix tonight. In the meantime, you should be able to use the Quick Add feature on the Browse Games screen. Sorry for the inconvenience!

The "Quick Add" button seems to be broken. The floating "Loading" box just sits there and information entry box does not appear.

Seems very hit and miss.

Testing from the Browse games list buttons with a couple of entries seemed to work fine. Tried it from the #killallzombies game's details page and it didn't work. Tried it from GTA V's game details page and it did work. Then I went back to try it from #killallzombies again, and it worked that time.

Might be server related. Hopefully with this added testing info, moho_00 will have a better sense of what's wrong.

Very hit and miss indeed. With the Disney Infinity in particular, kept going down the list and the same result. Miss. At least I got two of them added before this started LOL

It sounds like the Quick Add modal is never displayed, is that correct? I can't seem to recreate the issue from either page and I've tried in Firefox and Chrome. I haven't seen anything in the error logs yet either.

In my testing, it was as if clicking the button did absolutely nothing when it was failing.

Just a reminder, still getting the same result and behavior. That animated loading box just sits there.

@Brunauss - What browser are you using? This shouldn't matter since I haven't made any script changes to that page in a while, but you may want to try hitting CTRL+F5 to do a full refresh on the page. It's possible it's caching something in the scripts that's causing it to fail.

I still haven't been able to recreate it and I haven't seen anything in the error logs, so I'm sort of stuck on this one :(

I am using Chrome. This is why I left Chrome a couple years ago. Really bizarre stuff like this started happening and nothing I did resolved the behavior.

I recently cleared out my cache for unrelated reasons (also using Chrome) and I can't replicate the issue any more. I've tried it with multiple titles both from Browse Games and from the Game Details pages.

I'll keep fiddling to see if it happens again off and on during the day to see if this is just a fluke or what.

Just tried it on Edge Browser and the exact same behavior. Never ever accessed the site on that browser before. This will be just crushing if it is something linked to my profile. I don't even have everything entered yet LOL

Off to bed now. Take care guys.

Tried it sporadically for various titles on various pages throughout the day and no issues on my end. Can't pin down what was going on at all on my end of things before to replicate.

Additional info that my not be related... and yet it is. I just attempted to go into one of my collection entries, to start adding purchase prices to my titles, and the same behavior occurred once more. Clearly any command to bring up the details box is somehow being interrupted, causing the process to just cease up. I'm bracing myself for the possibility my current profile may have to be junked.

I figured this one out :D The issue is because you have an acquisition source that has quotation marks in it: Toys"R"Us. Having the quotes in there breaks the scripts that need to run in order to pop open the modal where you enter / edit a game and thus the "loading" bar shows up indefinitely. I knew it had to be something related to scripts based on the symptoms, but typically it's not account-specific.

Now that I know the cause, here's the solution(s):

Temporary solution - I've updated your Toys"R"Us value (there was only one) to Toys R Us and everything seems to be working fine now.
Permanent solution - This is obviously a bug and I will make it a priority to fix on the next release!

Is it limited to just the acquisition source field? While I'm not experiencing the same issue any more, I definitely was for a while. I don't think I have any fields that use any weird characters apart from maybe an underscore.

Either way though, that's awesome you figured it out!

The only other field I could see it affecting would be the Edition textbox autocomplete, which is driven off the VGPC data that's imported and subsequently mapped to a game. If it affects that field, it would definitely be sporadic since it's per game, whereas the acquisition source is for every game you try to add / edit. I'll take a look at the Edition field while I'm in there and squish that bug too, assuming it's there :D

The only other place I can think of where I might have used something like quotation marks would be for custom tags, if that helps at all.

You have got to be kidding me. I got locked out of my collection for using proper English? LOL That is just too funny. Not all that surprising, since it was a script related error. I will be sure to type the store name that same new way for the rest of my Disney Infinity 1.0 and 2.0. Thank you so much once again.
