I'm currently on my 4th year of college and started collecting Guitar Hero and Rock Band Guitars and games. I now have a Rock Band Fender Stratocaster & Precision Bass. I also have a Rock Band drum set (without the symbol attachments), with the original Rock Band sticks, and the microphone. For Guitar Hero, I have a Guitar Hero Live guitar and the original Gibson.

I have Rock Band 1-3 and missing 4. I also have the separate disc packs and just missing a couple of them. For Guitar Hero, I'm just missing Guitar Hero 5, Warriors of Rock, Metallica, Van Halen, and the original Guitar Hero for the PS2.

I'm also looking to collect rare versions of the guitars, but that's probably going to be later on in my life. I started collecting this stuff due to playing them a lot, in the past. That, or I just love rhythm games. I'm not a big collector, at least when it comes to physical items, but when it comes to any rhythm game, they are just awesome to own.

I have never played any Guitar Hero. Just got my PS4 a few months ago and have been thinking about trying it out since I see Guitar Hero Live with the Guitar included new in box for around $50. Still, don't know if I want to spend that kind of money on a game I don't know if I'll like since I haven't really played Rhythm games at all. Do you think I should buy it? (After I finish Super Mario Odyssey of course)

Guitar Hero Live, in my personal opinion, doesn't have good music. It's different, in a good way, than the other Guitar Hero games, however the music can be a bit, meh. Only get Guitar Hero Live if you plan on playing mostly the online mode (Guitar Hero TV) and being forced to either play songs you may not like for points, to play songs you do want to play later, or paying real money for in-game currency to buy points to play songs you want to play. Most of the game's songs are only in the online portion of the game, from what I saw and played. From my observations, those who do play Guitar Hero Live a lot mostly just love the game.

I got it because I love Guitar Hero and trying to find a guitar for any system, later in the future, can be quite difficult. It took me a while to find my Rock Band gear for dirt cheap. I spent $20 on a drum set, Stratocaster, and microphone.

If you aren't into it all that much, but want to try it out, I would either try and find someone that is looking to just get rid of it for cheap or stumble upon it for a low price somewhere. Another alternative would be to find a friend and try it out.
