This was an interesting and curious thought I had one day and thought I'd ask everyone. And hopefully being in the Collecting Lifestyle will fit :P

OBVIOUSLY we all (I'm assuming) love and prefer Completionator. But either we had to know another site before finding this one, or maybe some people have needs that Completionator can't yet satisfy. (maybe someone wants fan games or mods to add, so they go to Backloggery or something)

I can't say much about software because I've only used one free one, but I've seen some that look cool but are most of the time paid or exclusive to certain OS's.

The thing I wanted to ask is have you ever used any OTHER "Game Catalog" websites or software? And if you want, why or how was it to use? Hopefully I don't start some war, though. I'm not sure if its possible, but I just never know <.<

While I'm obviously bias at this point, I did use a number of collection / backlog tracking websites prior to building Completionator. The main issue I had was that they were either focused on collection tracking or backlog tracking. I've tried to build Completionator so it satisfies both equally, because that's what I needed

As a side-note, fan games and mods are welcome here!

I was going to say "people that didn't want to wait for games to be added" but it sounded kinda offensive x-x but good to know, might add a few Doom ones....well, 1 or 2 xD Because my hatred of BD and want others to get more recognition.

And I can agree. Before this site, Backloggery was a favorite, but after discovering this site I quickly loved the playthrough section and community too much to go back xD

Backloggery was my main site before this, but my profile's kind of a mess and got hit with a glitch that they never got back to me on. Completionator's easily the closest to what I want, if I ever get around to finishing up - completions to add and tagging to do.

I think I've tried pretty much all of them, though... Darkadia, HLTB, Gamedeed, GameFAQs, IGN or Gamespot (been way too long to remember), the True sites, Grouvee, Exophase, a couple probably dead Steam-specific ones, more I'm probably forgetting...
They've all got strong points, but the tags here make most of the others moot - if I can muster up the motivation to actually go tag all my junk.
HLTB's definitely still handy if I'm specifically after stuff to knock out or want to get lost in something for a month. Gamedeed's got an impressive database and sorting. True and Exophase both have nice multi-platform achievement lists, with the former often having guides. The others were all kind of awkward/clunky or otherwise lacking features I wanted and didn't get used much.
Then there's access databases, excel sheets, and notepad.

...I may have a problem.

Definitely the most involved owner, though. Hats off to you for all the hard work, moho.
