Hello! I'm new here and trying to get a feel for how some of the various features work and how everyone is using them. Anyone doing any of the following? If so, how? Stacks or tags seem like they'd work but looking for some feedback and suggestions.

  • Tracking games in a series.
  • Tracking subset collections, stuff like NES Black Box games or 2600 Activision.
  • Tracking things like developer, publisher, genre, etc. I was cataloging everything in a spreadsheet for a long time and sometimes it was interesting to see a breakdown but various things like this.

For subsets or any kind of informal grouping of games, I like to use lists, myself. Would probably work really well for your second bullet point.

Developer, publisher, genre, and series are all data fields associated with the game entry in completionator's database. The problem is that a very significant number of games are currently lacking any data in those fields as they are manually entered by curators and it's a monumental task that goes on and on and on. There's a lot of really cool functionality that can and will be implemented once we have more data loaded up though. For now, there is a genre filter on your collection page, but the results will likely be partial at best since there are still a ton of gaps in the database.
