Forsaken is yet another '90s game that I played, but never finished, so of course it's a giveaway I had Forsaken 64 and played it a bit, but I never really got anywhere in the game. I've never been any good at Descent-esque games or anything where you have to fly in any capacity. Nevertheless, the game seemed fun, though its marketing campaign was rather...odd. The game was plastered in magazines for months leading up to its release with a woman often showcasing a "Forsaken" tattoo with a barren wasteland in the background. This same setup ultimately adorned the cover of the game and although I never finished the game, I don't think it had anything to do with it whatsoever. It's kinda like what we saw with the North American release of Phalanx for SNES. So for this giveaway, all you need to do is post in this thread some games that you can think of that had covers / marketing campaigns that weren't really representative of the actual gameplay / story. I'll randomly select a winner from those who post and they will receive a free Steam key for Forsaken Remastered! You have until 11:59:59 PM EST on 8/14/18 to post.

They also had a commercial campaign with a voice telling us over and over again that "The future is Forsaken!" But when you think weird and non-representative cover, there's another shooter that has to take the cake. Phalanx for the SNES had an old man with a banjo on the cover for some reason. https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/076/758/735.jpg |

My answer doesn't count, since it's simply the nature of older games/software, but I thought I'd bring it up as more of a related topic. Older games that had crap for graphics that needed to be very creative with their cover art presentation in order to lure people in. I mean, how do you sell a (really good) text adventure like A Mind Forever Voyaging otherwise? If a parent bought their kid this game not knowing what it was exactly back in the day I guarantee you those kids would end up awfully disappointed!

The remaster is pretty fun so far! I recorded a short video of it the other day (keep in mind I'm terrible at these types of games!)

Krazy Kreatures for the NES From the name it sounds like some kind of mix and match creature creator. Actual Game play: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbMlY411cYw |

Oh man, "The future is forsaken" automatically popped in to my head when I heard this was coming out. I remember seeing this: It looks very Charlie's Angels, but the game is a localization of a Japanese vertical scrolling shooter called Gunbird where you can play as a broom-riding witch among others quirky characters. Localization is weird.
