As many of you already know, I'm always trying to squeeze in as much gaming time as I can. It can be difficult to balance gaming with work and life sometimes, especially if I'm in the middle of a large game. So that's why I've always tried to chip away at some smaller games in my collection when time is limited. If you peruse my completions, you'll notice I have a lot of games that take less than an hour or so to complete in some capacity.

With that being said, I thought it might be kinda neat if we had an unoffical weekly challenge here on the forums to play a game that doesn't require a large time committment and can be completed in a single sitting. These won't be bounties or anything and I figured I'd just post in this thread each week (generally on Sundays?) with a new game. The idea here is that maybe we get a completion or two each week and more importantly, the community can chip away further at their backlog

Everyone games differently, so if this doesn't work out, I'll just let the thread slip into obscurity and not spam the forums every week

Since today is January 1st, I'm going to go ahead and kick things off with Contra!

We'll let this one run until 1/13 since I'm starting it off in the middle of the week.

So if you wanna participate, get out that 'ol NES controller and blast your way through! Once you're done, enter your completion and post your thoughts here on the forum.

For me, I played this one last year and beat it for the first time ever. I didn't have Contra as a kid, so I don't have the muscle memory or anything. I played it with a friend and we used the Konami code, of course, haha! I had Operation C on Game Boy as a kid though and I played the heck out of that one.

I have to enter the completion still but I knocked this out last night on my DS. Didn't use the code either. Muscle memory is still there.

It's not legit unless you enter the completion @Darthbob2000!

I'm not surrendering to a Corona to get you to enter it either, bub. :)
