Not sure where this should go as this is more of a question than actual feedback, but here goes:

Looking through my collection I've noticed that Bravely Second had image of Deluxe CE for it's cover image. Which did strike me as a bit odd because up until now I thought there was only one cover image per game, but that does not seem to be the case here - if the Edition field is filled with "Deluxe Collector's Edition" value, the cover changes to CE cover, otherwise it is standard version cover, different for EU and NA regions.

So here's my question: is there a list of "Edition"/"Region" values with different covers for each game (for example looking at https://completionator.com/Game/Details/24910 I don't see anything that would indicate that entering "Deluxe Collector's Edition" would change displayed cover)?
Basically is there a way to see all available covers/variants for each game?

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to view the available covers for games at the moment. It's something that's on my list to add in the future, but...

...we simply don't have a lot of the covers entered yet. I can't speak for others, but I've primarily focused on individual, North American platform libraries from the '90s so far. But it's not just adding the box art, it's also entering release dates, edition info, lots of other metadata that you've probably seen sprinkled around at times (developer, publisher, Wikipedia / YouTube links, etc), plus more stuff that's not even surfaced on the site at the moment, such as franchises. So as I work through each platform, I'm entering all of that info for each game, which slows down the process a bit, but we'll get there

Also, you've probably noticed that we support an "alias" name for each game to handle regional naming differences. This is also something that will be changed in the future because right now it's a bit limited. But ultimately, you should see the appropriate box art / name based on the platform / region / edition that you've entered in your collection.

For more info on this functionality, you can also check out these threads:

I just entered data for Bravely Second the other day. The US had a "Collector's Edition" release while the EU had a "Deluxe Collector's Edition" release. Both have different box arts that differ from the standard box art. Do you own the Deluxe CE and noticed that the cover art changed? Or is there a mistake I need to correct, as in the wrong cover art is showing? I'm assuming you noticed the change because I edited the data recently.

@moho_00 - Is there a way to change when entering an Edition from the Add Game window, to give a list of release editions that have been entered? Instead of pulling from entries in the VGPC, because VGPC is only NA titles correct?

@elko84 It is correct, I do own DCE, was just curious because up until now I thought there was just one image per game. I probably should read the threads mentioned above...

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to view the available covers for games at the moment.

@moho_00 well that sucks because right now there is no way of telling what particular values could trigger different cover artwork - in this case "Deluxe Collector's Edition" works, but if I entered "Deluxe Collectors Edition" or "Collector's Edition" or "DCE" I wouldn't even know there was alternate cover version. It's easier for regions / platforms because it's a set of limited combinations.

When adding / editing a game in your collection, the Edition textbox currently provides autocomplete options using the editions that have been mapped from VGPC. Ultimately, this autocomplete needs to utilize the data we're collecting along with the region / platform box art stuff instead, much like @elko84 suggested. Generally speaking, the VGPC editions match our custom editions fairly well, so there's a lot of overlap. That being said, I'll go ahead and switch over the autocomplete with the next release, but it might be a while...the next release is gonna be a doozy

@moho_00 - Yes in this example with Bravely Second, the VGPC data for it includes the standard release and a collector's edition release. However, that links itself with the US collector's edition release. The EU version is labeled deluxe collector's edition which creates a problem when collector's editions are called two different things in two different regions.
