What would you like the theme to be?
Total Votes: 0

No new options this time, I went with options that had received votes in the past few rounds. I also included last year's March winner, which is my favorites since it's my birthday again (If chosen, I'll try to pick a different set of games) or

Just a question, because most of the themes here are pretty interesting, will you keep at least some of them for next month too?

I usually keep 2-4 themes non-winning themes in contention for the next month (or beyond). I'm a little late getting to the theme this month, but when I checked it looked like Product Placement Games would be the winner (I think technically it was the winner when 3/1 arrived), so I have a lineup set for that. But as a bonus, I've added some of my favorites (since it has the most votes as of right now) as "regular" bounties:

  • Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance - Excellent action RPG that's very reminiscent of Diablo, but still well worth playing.
  • Cubivore: Survival of the Fittest - This is a bizarre game that I couldn't believe made it to North America, but I'm really glad it did. It's an incredibly unique experience, so if you have it on your shelf, you should give it a try!
  • Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns - I picked this one up shortly after it was originally released and enjoyed it, but I never made it anywhere on the campaign. I finally played through it last year and it's worth checking out if you want a mixture of say Heroes of Might and Magic III and Age of Empires (so yeah, it's all real-time, but some turn-based style elements).
  • Panzer Dragoon - This is such a classic and I ended up playing through it again last year. Out of all the dormant franchises out there, this one has to be towards the top of my list to be revived.
  • R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 - I generally preferred Sega Rally and Daytona USA back in the day, but Ridge Racer is still a really fun series.

As much as the idea of Product Placement games seemed like a good one....nobody has yet to accept any!

I think the theme’s good in theory, I personally just don’t own any of the games that have bounties in the theme this time around.

I'm in the same boat! I think the low amount of ownership of most of the games is probably why the 'acceptance' of these hasn't been as much.

Yeah the theme is great, but it's a small niche of ownership. Adding in some of the more "hidden" product placement like from that Dorkly article would help, I'll jump in on basically any bounty if I own the game lol. Maybe Enter The Matrix? The Powerade placement seems awfully intentional.

I was a little worried about this set since most of them are older and / or obscure. My intention here was more for what we have listed, meaning games that were either made to promote a product / brand or feature them very prominently. Most of the games on the Dorkly article are just games that used some sort of product placement, but that's not nearly as interesting as a theme. I might have to give Big Bumpin' a go, it's been a while since I played that one!
