Watched the Google Stadia Connect. I wasn't too sure what it was to be honest, but now it seems pretty ambitious. Being able to play say, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, on your cell phone sounds interesting. Not sure this is for me though as I still enjoy having a physical disc to add to my collection. Although on the PC front that's pretty much all digital now and really didn't have a choice. Hopefully this year Microsoft doesn't try to go all digital again.

Yeah, it looks extremely ambitious. Like a lot of the Goog's projects though, I feel like this is going to be a flash in the pan that gets abandoned when things don't quite pan out the way they think they will (like Google Fiber and every software project that gets canned after a year or two.)

The biggest shortfalls that I see are:

  • Many people not having great internet connections to begin with resulting in a less than ideal stream quality.
  • Latency, which I found to be a factor with PSNow when I tried it with my better than average internet connection. I'm not convinced Google has found some magical solution that reduces it to an acceptable level, but I could be proven wrong.
  • Data caps. I know more providers are starting to offer unlimited packages for home internet, but people who want to stream to their mobile devices are going to be in for a hell of a surprise with the projected amount of data this will use.

I've added most of the new games announced so far during E3. Let me know if I've missed any.

I really really want to see some of that Avenger's gameplay... That felt like such a tease!

Totally. They didn't really explain exactly what it is.
