Anybody score a pre-order?

I missed the first night of preorders when most retailers jumped the gun since I had a migraine. I tried again the following night when Wal-Mart had a new wave and despite being logged in with my payment / address info all ready to go...I was unable to finish the checkout process because it said it was out of stock. It wasn't even 9:01 when I got the first "out of stock" message, which is amazing. I tried a few more times, but with the same result.

It's annoying, but definitely reminds me of the PS2 launch. I worked at EB at the time and man, EVERYONE wanted one and we would go days / weeks without getting ANY new stock. We had oversold preorders too, so it took a while just get through those (if I remember correctly, Sony cut the shipment at the last minute, but I could be wrong on that.)

Nope, I'm waiting until next year, see how things play out. Even then I'm choosing between a console or a new video card due to budget constraints. Possibly neither depending on how things go.

@Moho - are you doing following anything or subscribing to any feeds to tell you when pre-orders go up?

Have a pre-order with Target and Amazon.

Anybody have any luck so far? I tried the day that Walmart was going to have several 'in-stock' inventory points but never could get past clicking my address.

For those who have it, how is it?

I have 2 of them (1 for me, 1 for my gf). They are just as good as the Xbox Series X (have 1 of those as well). However, the new DualSense controller is pretty awesome. There are some PS5 issues as far as the system crashing when trying to bring it out of rest mode. USB ports not charging controllers in rest mode. Stuff like that.

I finally managed to score one via Walmart last night thanks to the wife. It should arrive the first week of January.

I think my initial game selections are going to be Spider-Man and Demon Souls. What's everybody else playing on it??
