Hi
new to the site, gone through most of my collection and found these games which don't have an alternative PAL title in the description or are not in the database from what I can tell.

playstation 1

"galaga: destination earth"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galaga:_Destination_Earth
"music"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jester_Interactive
"need for speed: v-rally 2" needs the title "v-rally 2" for PAL regions
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V-Rally_2
"x-com: terror from the deep"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-COM:_Terror_from_the_Deep
"tobal number 2"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tobal_2

Playstation 2

"alpine racer 3"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpine_Racer#Legacy
"Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection" needs to be labelled "Gottlieb Pinball Classics" for the european PAL market
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinball_Hall_of_Fame:_The_Gottlieb_Collection
"wrc 3" isnt given the full PAL title "WRC 3: The Official Game of the FIA World Rally Championship"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WRC_3
"intellivision lives!" isn't given a full PAL title
"intellivision lives: the history of video gaming"

Nintendo DS

"Flash Focus: Vision Training in Minutes a Day" needs the alternative PAL title
"Sight Training: Enjoy Exercising and Relaxing Your Eyes"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_Focus:_Vision_Training_in_Minutes_a_Day

Playstation 3

"Fighting edition"
this title could be expanded to include the compiled 3 game names into the title as you can't find it by searching those games included. good idea on this one?

I think most of these should be fixed up now. Some of them (Galaga: Destination Earth, Music, Tobal 2, etc) were already on here. Were you by chance using the Platform filter on this page? If so, it's sort of broken at the moment...I really need to remove it since it can be misleading We've been moving things over to the Browse by Platform page, but, unfortunately, we don't have a lot of PAL lists fully entered yet (and thus they won't show up on the page).

A few other notes / questions:

  • It seems as though V-Rally 2 was released as "V-Rally 2: Championship Edition" ("V-Rally Championship Edition 2", as some sites have it listed) and I couldn't really find a "V-Rally 2" release. Let me know if I'm missing something here.
  • I looked into Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection and it seems as though Gottlieb Pinball Classics was actually a separate release about a year or so after the initial, looks like maybe it was due to a publisher switch?
  • I'll note the feedback on being able to search within a compilation (such as Fighting Edition), it does seem like it could be helpful.

Oh and we also have dedicated threads for missing games and incorrect / incomplete data, just helps to have them all in one place so we make sure nothing gets overlooked

Hi there

That's correct, I was using the platform filter.

on v-rally 2. the side of the box on the pal region has the name as just "v-rally 2" at least on my "best of infogrames" version perhaps it says the full title in the standard black label version? it does say "championship edition" on the artwork for the box, but that would depend on how you have things categorized on here? personally I store ps1 games side on so that the side of the box is facing me and read that as the game name. it's a weird thing though because many games during that era had the box art print additional titling to what it said on the side. there didn't seem to be logic to it in regards to space saving as some ps2 and ps1 titles had the full long title on the side. another example is "Formula one" for the playstation 1 by bizarre creations and psygnosis. the game has that wording printed on the side, yet the box art has it as "Formula 1". makes things a bit confusing for categorization!

ah my mistake on the pinball release. I guess that goes down as a separate one rather than a name variation. I will check that thread and post to there should anything else appear, thanks!
