Better site

I'm sure there's going to be bias, but I'll ask anyways. What site do you prefer and why? |

While HLTB has a much bigger user data set for each title due to the site's popularity, it doesn't come close to touching the options/features/flexibility of completionator. I'm definitely not biased though. At all. |

Sure HLTB has more user entered data, but if I really want to know about the playtime (which I rarely do), I'll head over there quickly. Of all the sites I searched for to keep an overview of my collection over different platforms, this was the best one I found for me. Initially, I didn't care much for the community features, but I'm really enjoying them now. I love that I was able to suggest things for the site and they were implemented. All that is to say, I prefer completionator :) |

The problem with HLTB is that they have multiple entries for what is essentially the same game, and when you're a site focused on letting people know how long it takes to beat a game, that throws off your data. Not to mention the community and moderators are a bunch of argumentative asshats who can't acknowledge the sites flaws and just make excuses. I hate them. |

I think HLTB is more geared towards time spent on a game whereas Completionator is more geared towards, well, managing your game collection as a whole. I'm really digging Completionator's customization and especially the export tool. Both sites are great in their own rights though. |

I have used Backloggery, HLTB, and completionator and found that completionator is much more intuitive and it feels a bit more personal to use. |

Never even heard of how long to beat. Completionator works great for me and does exactly what I need. I can track my collection, see it’s value, log my own progress and favorites, add to my wishlist, and curate lists. It’s perfect! |

HLTB is a great supplemental source to Completionator when maybe there aren't times (or as many) entered here for a game....or just to get a broader sense of the average times for a game. I've not used HLTB in any extensive nature so I can't really say how the rest of what they offer compares. That being said, I've been using Completionator since 'pretty much' the beginning and it has been everything I would want in a game collection, interaction, and progress site. Community here is pretty good, too.

I've never used HLTB, so I couldn't say. I'm registered on two backlog tracking sites already (Completionator and Backloggery) so I don't feel any need to register on any more. |

Chiming in to add that, among the four or so that I currently use (Including HLTB and Completionator) I prefer Completionator to them all. Really gives you access to a ton of information and adds different ways to track your journey and progress through a month, year, or a decade. Hard agree with the various versions of a game being separate on HLTB really hurts the overall intention. |

So, I kinda like the book club angle where there's themed games every month/ bounties/ mercenary guild. I've collected enough that analysis paralysis kicks in. Backloggery has the fortune cookie but it was always kind of hard to stick to that, plus how inconvenient adding things was overall. Howlongtobeat still has the edge in time estimates, hopefully we'll get large enough to close that gap soon. |

I am loving it here at Completionator! I come here first for completion times and then check HLTB if we don't have it here yet. But the features here and the community aspect appeals to me. |

I've always viewed HLTB as more of a speedrunning site than a proper means of tracking your completions and collection. I am gonna give the award to Completionator here, this site is just perfect for what I want to do. Before this, I would track my completion and collection with messy Excel sheets... |

HTLB seems to be more for data than completion. |
