I'm going to be experimenting with some stack enhancements in the near future and to kick things off, I've rewritten the "My Stacks" page. The page now uses a grid layout with images to try and give it a little more color. It's definitely a work-in-progress, but hopefully conveys the direction I'm taking it.

Here are the stack-related items I have on my radar:

  • Clean up the styles / layout on the My Stacks page
  • Replicate (for the most part) the My Stacks layout to the main Stacks Search page
  • Add the ability to "like" (or "favorite" or "follow"...not sure on the verb yet) a stack
  • Add a filter to quickly find stacks you've "liked"
  • Add notifications for when stacks you've "liked" are updated or have new comments
  • Revamp the Stack Edit page so it's a little better than just an onslaught of textboxes (possibly a grid layout like the Playlist page)
  • Add some "move to top" and "move to bottom" options when editing a stack
  • Add a toggle so when you add a new item to a stack, it can go to the top or bottom (right now it always goes to the bottom)
  • Add some text to explain how to format text within a description
  • Lift the restriction so the same game can be added multiple times to a single stack
  • Add a toggle for controlling the "direction" of items on the Stack Edit page (so your list can count down or up)

As always, if you have any feedback, please let me know

Adding a game multiple times to the same stack?

At last Fester's Quest can occupy all positions of my top 10 lists!

I made some minor tweaks to try and solidify the new design a bit!

It looks pretty good!

The only thing I think it could use is some kind of "+# more" information to the right of the images to show how many items are in the stack beyond the limit of 5.

Ah, yes, I forgot to add the item count haha! I put something in there and I also applied the new design to the main Stack Search page (with some slight differences, of course). There will be more minor changes once I dig into the whole "favorite-ing" thing...eventually!

It's now possible to "like" stacks! You'll receive a notification when "liked" stacks are updated or have new comments.

Looks great! Perhaps the Stack Search page sort order could be 'updated last'. It's now alphabetically so you will always see the same stacks.

I like the changes, Mr. moho. I specifically like the ability to add duplicates of games.

Any chance for an option to have the stack count down to number 1, instead of starting with number 1? Not sure if that's an easy addition or if it'll be a pain to implement.

@Marcelloz - I agree, we should use something other than alphabetical as the default sorting option. I had hoped to eventually implement a "Most Popular" option, but obviously it will take a while to accumulate the data for that to work (if we ever get there!) I definitely think a "Last Updated" sorting option makes sense, but I'm torn on whether that or the existing "Published On" should be the default.

@psychoapeguy - I've had a task on my list to allow toggling the "direction" of items for a loooong time. I'll try to get to that while I'm working on some of these other Stack-related enhancements.
