Hey people. I have already starting adding some games. Specially the ones I am playing currently. Also loved the Goals feature, so I added some Goals for games like GTA San Andreas and Marvel Spider-Man. Tried to do the goals list as complete as possible, including all the missions, side quests and collectibles. GTA San Andreas took me a while. This game huge and have a LOT of things to do. I have noticed you can import the Goals from other players but noticed the goals I created are not available yet to be imported. I will start to add my entire collection now. I don't have many fisical games (less than 200) but I have a LOT of digital games specially on Xbox and PC. Will be using this website for a long time, I hope. And will try to contribute to make the content as good as I can be. |

Welcome aboard, I can make a few recommendations to get the most out of the site. 1) You can choose a random game in the collection menu; great if you're overwhelmed to think of what to play. Between all these features you should never have a hard time chipping away at your backlog again. |

Welcome to the site! I'd just like to add that with regards to goals, there's no way for users to "share" their goals as things are set up now. Shared goal lists are very much a work in progress that as of now are purely curated, so the number of supported titles is fairly limited at this time. Games that are listed as part of the challenges that Lahdgren mentioned are one area that's being targeted for adding goal lists to by other curators and personally, I'm adding goals to NES games at the moment. Hope you find the site useful and never hesitate to ask questions or offer suggestions! |

Thanks for the explanation @dhobo ! It's a bummer we can't share the Goals yet. But it is better to have the Goals curated anyway. Now, let me ask you. |

@sergiotecnico As of right now the only goal lists that are eligible for importing are ones created by curators while they are a work in progress. Adding to that, I might be mistaken, but I also believe that goal lists that you create for your playthroughs become inaccessible once you actually complete a playthrough. They might still exist in the site's database somewhere, but there isn't a user-friendly way to access them once a game transitions from being a playthrough to a completion. Again, a lot of this is due to things being in development. My recommendation if you want to preserve a goal list for later use (and a way to share with others) would be to post it on the forums. Here's a link to a post where others have shared their goal lists: |

Great, I Will use the forum to share my goals then. I was just adding a PS2 game that I have on PS3 and have a suggestion. |

Generally, I've added those games as PSN/digital games for whatever console I bought them on, ps3/ps4/ps5/psp/vita, etc... It's not like you could buy those digitally to play on an actual ps1 or ps2. |

That's one of the things I like about this site, is that you can handle your collection generally in whatever way makes the most sense for your own usage. From your perspective, a digital version of a ps2 game is still a ps2 game even if it's not playable on a ps2 in that format. Whereas from my perspective, I consider a game to be part of whatever system it's actually playable on. Neither viewpoint is wrong or correct, but they're both perfectly viable options. Speaking of which, @moho_00 might want to add the PSN option for ps1/ps2 for use case scenarios like yours. |

That's what I tought. The website is really versatile, so we can adapt it to our own necessity, which is a great thing. I am still trying to learn the uses for all the features in the website. Right now I am trying to understand the diferences between Playlist, Lists and Stacks. What do you suggest? |

Personally, as far as which feature I would use for your question regarding racing/music/lego games, etc... I would probably use the basic Playlist to track them as upcoming games I was planning to play. The cards can be dragged and re-ordered so everything can be arranged in the order in which you plan to tackle them, plus you can add/remove games from the playlist on the fly as things change. That said, stacks are another option if you don't anticipate making many changes to your list of games and are open to the possibility of receiving feedback or discussion regarding your list from others. |

First, thank you @dhobo for being so kind to take the time to explain things to me. The basic playlist I don't really like for this as I cannot have different playlists with different names. The best option would probably be the Stacks as it allows me to add the games no matter they are on my collection or not. It even shows how many games of that list I already own. Right now I have a spreadsheet in the cloud that I use for this purpose. For example I have a list of all LEGO Games release for Xbox360/One. I have most of the games but there are some that I still need to buy. I just like to keep the list with all the games arranged by release date, as I will play them in this order. Maybe an option to set some Stacks as private would be great for this purpose. But for now, I think Stacks are the best choice and I don't see any problem to have them public for others to see/comment. |

I should add that you don't have to publish your stacks if you want them purely for personal use and not have other people able to see/comment on them. You can keep them unpublished and make changes to them as you see fit.

I will also agree that PS1 and PS2 games are not digital releases on their consoles. They are digital releases on the platform they are digitally available for. If you want to see your PS2 collection, you are looking for all physical releases on PS2. If you own a PS2 game on a PS3, then the game is a digital PS3 release and in your PS3 collection (physical games and digital downloads). Otherwise, you start getting into the confusion of saying, for example, you own Super Mario World for the SNES even though you have Super Mario World on a GBA cartridge. |

I understand your point @elko84. In my case I added the PS2 version as digital, so I have: Maybe the correct way would be to add new providers for digital PS3 games called PS2 Classics and PS1 Classics. |

This sounds like a good place to use the "Edition" field, in my opinion. I would personally enter both games as ps3 digital titles (essentially a duplicate) but use the Edition field to differentiate one of them as the ps2 port. edit: I'll add that this is how I would have handled the Xbox Originals as well if I were doing this in my collection, as opposed to creating a whole provider for it.

@dhobo I can't seem to find a way to filter the collection by Edition as if I wanted to see the PS2 Classics editions in my collection. I this sense I prefer to use tags. A tag called PS2 Classics would let me filter and see all my PS2 games on PS3. The fact that I suggested adding a new provider is because other platform already use it, as the Xbox Originals I mentioned and I try to keep my library/collection organized using the same criteria for all the games. I don't like to use different criterias for different platforms. So I will use your suggestion and create tags for these situations. I am already using a tag to separate EA Play games. |

I apologize, I must have misremembered things. I could have sworn the Editions field was a filter option. Tags are a good option as an alternative. Lists would also serve the same purpose if you created a PS2 Classics list, though I find tags to be more visually appealing in the collection list.

I would also add both GTA games as digital releases for PS3 with PSN as the provider. The PlayStation Network is still the provider of the content regardless of whether the game is a port. You might have a digital version of a PS2 game, but it’s really a PS3 version of a PS2 game. Because it’s only playable on the PS3. I have FF7 (PS1 game) digitally on PS3. It’s a PS1 Classic, but that’s not a provider. PSN provided it. They just called it a PS1 Classic. You could use the Edition field as @dhobo suggested but I personally wouldn’t. I guess if I wanted to log that it’s a PS1/2 Classic, I would either use the Tags or just enter it in the Notes section. I understand you want to filter and show all PS2 games, but again I wouldn’t consider having a PS2 port of GTA on the PS3 a PS2 game. It’s a PS3 game. I see what you are saying with the Xbox Originals on 360 too. Maybe that needs to be Microsoft Store or something. Because it’s not Live Arcade either.

@elko84 thank you for your feedback. I agree with you. They both can't be played only on PS3. So I changed my PS2 Classics to PS3 as a platform and added the tag PS2 Classics. Same for PSOne Classics. At fist I though the provider was for identifing the source where the game was bought like PSN or Xbox Live but then I saw providers like PS Plus, Games With Gold, Xbox Originals, Game Pass then I was confused. |

It sounds like @sergiotecnico has things squared away, but I'll add some comments here as well (apologies for the delay). Generally speaking, the Digital Format Provider field is meant to be for launchers or otherwise places where you can download a game. Obvious examples for PC would be Steam, GOG, Uplay, etc, but there are A LOT of other, smaller services. Consoles tend to only have one (or two) for each system, such as Xbox Live Arcade and PSN, but this has morphed over time as these services evolve / rebrand and more hardware is introduced, so it's probably messier than it should be. The Acquisition Source field is for tracking where you purchased an item. For example, you might purchase a Steam key on Humble Store, so you might put that as your source, but you'd want to use Steam as your Digital Format Provider since that's where you can actually launch / download / access the game. |

@moho_00 I understand your explanation for provider and I think is a great way to use this field. But right now it is a little messed up. We have providers like Xbox Live Arcade, Games on Demand, Game Pass, PlayStation Plus, Game With Gold, among others So, for the main platforms correct providers today would be: PlayStation 3/4/5 - PlayStation Store I understand there is no need to specify a provider if the console has only one provider, like PlayStation and Xbox does. But here is also the caso for new rotating subscriptions services that are Netflix style, like GamePass, PSNow, Apple Arcade, PlayPass, NintendoOnline, EA Play, Ubisoft+. But still not sure what would be the best way to tag the games from PSPlus and GWG. Right now we use the Provider field, but these are subscription services not providers. |

For better or worse, I don't have any plans to remove things like Xbox Live Arcade because many users have already utilized them in their collections. For the Xbox Series X|S, we only have Microsoft Store and Xbox Game Pass, so the site has tried to handle provider changes as they've been rebranded over the years, but there's still an element of "history" for older platforms. Adding a "Digital Subscription" ownership status has popped up a couple of times before, both for Game Pass and Games With Gold type stuff. One way to solve it would be to put all of those options into a single Subscription dropdown. |
