Hello fellow completionators, it is Steam Next Fest again and with it comes a lot of cool demos to test and play around.

I thought why not open up a thread to discuss which demos/games are promising and which are not.

Well, for starters, we found this game:

Make Way
I really like what they showcased here. Choose a piece of track and clip it on the last bit to extend the actual racetrack, but three other friends do this too. It is fun, it is refreshing and I can see me and my buddies playing this on a fun gaming night. Definitely a winner for me.

As someone who really enjoyed the absurd concept of Viscera Cleanup Detail, this newer take on a similar theme has me intrigued.

Crime Scene Cleaner

We found some more:

Balloons seems like fun. You control a balloon, which is racing against other balloons. The kicker is: The game is a roguelike and after every round you get the opportunity to upgrade your balloon with different ability´s and stats. A little rough around the edges but has potential.

Solium Infernum plays like a slow Civilization game, but it does have some interesting game-mechanics. For example, you have two actions per round, you can move your units, collect taxes for tokens or upgrade stuff. The tokens allow you to buy units, upgrades etc. from a shared market between all players. There are also more then one way to win the round, not unlike in Armello, it got that board-game vibe going.

Also, we found Tony Hawk's Pro Skater but with motorbikes, guns and roguelike elements. It´s called: Motordoom. Not gonna lie, it is a lot of fun, even though it needs a little more work to get the controls right.

Turnip Boy Robs a Bank is the sequel to Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion. My girlfriend really liked the first game, so she played the demo and approves. So it earned its place here.

Japanese Drift Master is a really pretty drift game in which you drive around the Japanese mountains to race and drift. The game seems to be heavily inspired by franchises like Initial D and Wangan Midnight, It wants to showcase how it would feel to drive around the narrow streets often found in this areas. The handling model is still a bit yanky but it does have potential.
