My Top 10 Games played in 2023
Description
Updating 'till December.
Outer Wilds
My friend talked me into playing this game and I'm so glad I did. A very interesting game and a great experience that can be ruined with the smallest spoilers, so it's best to play it completely blindly. I'm sure the story and the mechanics in the game were put together by the absolute big brains cause there is no right order of exploring or doing stuff and no matter where you start you won't get lost or confused (at least not more than normally afdsg). OW made me realize I don't really play games for their story and haven't played many games with actually good story, lol. The DLC was also great in the long run though I'm still not a fan of sneaking around and horror-ish atmosphere (big thanks to the creators for reduce frights option <3). So yeah I'm not sure if I would ever play OW myself mainly because I don't like first-person view games, but in this case, I'm very glad I did.
Pentiment
I found about this game by chance and I'm so glad I decided to get and play it. Honestly I don't even know where to start. Point and click mystery adventure in a village ruled by religion. I loved everything about this game, from the easy but pleasant gameplay and how you can build your MC's background, through interesting mystery plots, how your choices influence both you and others and how much the game lets you learn about the history through everything it shows end does, to just the art direction, atmosphere and aesthetics of the game. After I finished the game once I ended up 100%-ing it and checking the things I didn't do on YT cause there is just so many things you can and WILL miss when playing the game only once, and then I watched my friends stream me their playthroughs of the game and STILL found things in those that I didn't see before. Just a very good, climatic game that I'd recommend to everyone, though I wish there were some existing canons as to the murderers' identities.
Risk of Rain 2
Took me a while to warm up to this game at the start cause I don't play shooting games like, at all, but then I luckily got hooked. At the moment I have over 700 hours in RoR2 and it's still rising - and the best thing is, sometimes I can still find out things in this game that I don't know, cause there's just so much to do and see. Excited for the upcoming new DLC.
Blasphemous 2
I was a bit worried about some changes in the sequel before it came out but then the game proved me that I didn't have to. The lack of Mea Culpa feels a bit weird but the new weapons and their interactions with the environment are fun in their own way. Combat felt a bit more challenging than in the first game, not that it's a bad thing. I was getting angry with most of the bosses lol but in the end had fun both with the fights (the pre-last boss of the whole game was almost the end of me tho) and exploring. Hit 100% in achievements pretty fast and now I'm waiting for the DLCs cause the game, with how nice it was, was noticeably shorter in length compared to the packed with DLCs first Blasphemous.
Noita
Oooh, I hate this game so much, It's so original and interesting but I hate it so much. Winning once after 378 deaths felt like I won a billion bucks in lottery. Play this game guys if you love challenge and have LOTS of patience and/or hate yourselves.
