Description

They may not have all come out in 2023, but I still had a great time with all of them.

F.E.A.R. Platinum Collection

As if great combat gameplay, level design, and intelligent enemy AI weren't enough to get this a high ranking, the story and atmosphere make this one of the most immersive gameplay experiences ever. The horror elevates the action, making things more intense and exciting. Though the expansions weren't as good, the main campaign is one of the best FPS experiences I've ever had.

Deus Ex

This game really does live up to it's legendary status, even if some aspects of it do feel a little clunky by today's standards. The writing, level design, upgrades, world building, and choice based gameplay all give you a sense of freedom and immersion that rivals games like Breath of the Wild (yes, I'm serious). Although I definitely think that some parts of the gameplay (combat and stealth mainly) and story (the endings kind of suck) could be better, I'm still really impressed with what was achieved with this game. Definitely a game you should play at least once.

Silent Hill

It's a little rough, and the voice acting could certainly use some work, but the scope and vision of this game is achieved so well on hardware that is nearly 30 years old. One of my new favorite horror experiences, and one that I certainly can't wait to go back to.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Yeah, I'm not done with Zelda yet. The gameplay, world design, mechanics, music, and story make this one of the best entries in the series as a whole. Until I change my mind again, I'd go as far as to say it's my favorite of the entire series.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D

I've always been intrigued by this game, and I'm so glad I finally set aside time to play through it this year. Although this remaster does worsen a few of the mechanics, I still had a great time playing this game to completion. If i'm in the right mood, I might say it's my favorite of the series.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D

Revisiting this game from my childhood reminded me why I became a fan of this series in the first place. One of the best games of all time, and certainly one of the best remasters of all time.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2

Though I feel that this sequel plays things too safe, I still had a great time playing it and I can't wait to jump right back into it once new game plus is added.

Lethal Company

Some of the most multiplayer fun I've had in a while, this has quickly become a favorite among my friends and I.

Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader

After getting into Gamecube collecting, this was the first game on the system I've beaten and it was certainly a great way to begin. 20+ years later it holds up really well in practically every way.

Super Mario 64

Even with its flaws, this was still very fun to play through and I'm excited to see how the other 3D games improve upon this game's controls and ideas.
