Description

Didn't hit the same number of games that I did last year due to having less time in general, but I think the overall quality (of non-Fester's Quest games) went up across the board. No stinkers this year for me to suffer through.

Fester's Quest

This game only improves with time. It has reached a point where any remaster/remake could only possibly lead to disappointment.

Animal Well

I am so envious of solo game developers that can produce something of such obscenely good quality as Animal Well.

Still Wakes the Deep

All the Lovecraftian horror and Scottish brogue you could ever ask for.

Siren

While the controls and some of the insanely obtuse puzzles haven't exactly aged well, the setting and unique game mechanics make up for any shortcomings this game has.

Infinifactory

Factory automation designed by slave labour, nothing could possibly go wrong.

The Case of the Golden Idol

It's like someone took their love of logic puzzles and built an entire game and story around them.

Death Stranding: Director's Cut

I spent so much time with this game, as it was so incredibly moreish. Also contains epic pizza delivery music that rivals Spider-Man 2.

Final Fantasy V (Pixel Remaster)

These next ff games are going to collectively be my #8, so it gives me an excuse to rate and comment on two non-ff games afterwards. A good set of re-releases, but they lose points for incorporating the blasphemy that is diagonal movement.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Maybe I'm getting a bit tired of the formula, but I sadly had higher expectations for AC4. Don't get me wrong, it was really good, but I expected it to be higher up on the list at the end of the day.

Killer Frequency

Probably closer to a visual novel with some very mild puzzle elements than anything, despite being more of a 3d adventure game. But when you effectively take a movie like Pontypool and decide to make a game set in a similar setting, you will get my attention.
