Metroid Series
Description
Going to catalog my thoughts as I play through the Metroid series. Without knowing anything about her, I was drawn to Samus in Smash 64 as a kid, and despite playing the entire Smash series for the rest of my life I have never truly PLAYED the Metroid series. I played a chunk of Metroid Prime in the beginning of COVID, and I've attempted the first Metroid game via the Switch, but it's time.
Metroid: Zero Mission
I feel like Dexter looking at his Albert Einstein poster. I don't think I can force myself to learn the ins and outs of the original Metroid. I don't have the time to play games without any sort of save system cause I like to explore. I'd love to come back one day and properly play it. I HAVE played it a bit, but not beaten it. So for my sanity's sake, Zero Mission.
What a great game! Loved every minute of it. One thing that really rubs me the right way is when games have high skill ceilings that don't take away from actually beating the game. I DID look up how to shinespark but it's definitely hard to master to get to those nooks and crannies (I did not master it lol). This took longer than it needed to because I'm stingy with Super Missiles, but that's on me. I think the only real hurdle was learning how to deal with the Metroids gauntlet.
