What are bounties?
Bounties are kind of like a book club for video games. When a bounty is posted, you can "accept" it, which indicates you're going to play it. While playing the game, you can post in the associated forum thread to discuss your progress, what you think about the game, etc. The idea here is to further motivate one another to complete games we already want to play and interact while we're doing it!
How do they work?
First off, you need to accept the bounty. To do this, simply click on the Accept Bounty button and select the platform you're going to play the game on. Upon doing this, you will have a playthrough created for you where you can track your time. Tracking time this way is optional, so if the game tracks it or you have another method of doing it, rock on. Once you complete the game, you can enter a completion for your playthrough, which will require you to enter how long it took you to complete it. This is why tracking time in some manner is important :)
And that's it. Once you enter your completion, the bounty is complete and you can bask in your glory!
Why do I have to keep track of the time?
The more completion times we have, the more accurate our data and statistics will be. That helps other community members when they're trying to decide to buy and / or play a game.
What if I don't finish a game / complete the bounty?
Absolutely nothing happens. There is no penalty for NOT completing a bounty. This is all about having fun (and completing games)! You can still complete the game after the bounty, you just won't get any bonus points for it.
Umm...points?
Oh yeah, you get points for doing stuff here on Completionator!! These points are purely cosmetic and no rewards will be handed out for them. But it's a way to quantify your contributions to our awesome community!
