I hope that rumor isn't true... I've had Tetris for a while (though nothing beats the original Game Boy experience) and bought Watchdogs in a recent sale. :D

Though Watchdogs has been rumored for PS Plus for approximately forever. Knack is a persistent rumor for PS4 as well.

I could NOT get into Watch Dogs (if that is in fact a game for May for PS Plus). I tried numerous times but man....It just wasn't very good.

I loooooved the Costume Quest games! I played them on Steam though, so I didn't have any text issues. I need to go back and finish Grid 2. It's a really fun game, but the career mode can be exhausting if you want to race in every event (which I do).

Watch Dogs is fun if you avoid the gun play as much as possible. Otherwise, meh.

And here's the list of the May PS Plus games, available May 3rd. No Watch Dogs.

PS4:

  • Switch Galaxy Ultra
  • Table Top Racing: World Tour
  • Tropico 5

PS3:

  • Bionic Commando Rearmed 2
  • LocoRoco Cocorrecho!

PS Vita:

  • Switch Galaxy Ultra
  • God of War: Ghost of Sparta (PSP game)

My reactions:

PS4: Can't play the PS4 games (don't have a PS4), but I already got Tropico 5 in the recent Humble Bundle anyway. Don't know about the others. I wonder if the Table Top Racing game is a Micro Machines esque game. (Which, btw, HUGE recommendation here for Toybox Turbos on Steam).

PS3: Kind of chuckling about the LocoRoco game since way back when the PSN outage in 2011 happened, I lived in South Korea and bought games there. So I established a Hong Kong PSN account to redeem some of the Asian only DLC codes. And it also got to pick 2 games from the Welcome Back program. I picked the LocoRoco game here and The Last Guy, and now both of those my main account has through PS Plus. The first BCR game was good, so I expect the 2nd to be good as well

Vita: Last time the Vita offerings included a PSP game, there was a lot of complaining, but God of War is never a bad game.

moho, the missing games this month are Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 and Table Top Racing: World Tour.

I'd like to put in a request for a re-roll on the ps4 offerings. The rest are fine. :P

Games With Gold for June 2016 announced. Not as good as previous months:

Xbox One:

  • Goat Simulator (June 1st - 30th)
  • The Crew (June 16th - July 15th)

Xbox 360 (Also compatible with Xbox One):

  • Super Meat Boy (June 1st - 15th)
  • XCOM Enemy Unknown (June 16th - 30th)

Goat Simulator is fun, but definitely is not Triple A fare.

The Crew, from what I've read is considered disappointing, but not terrible. Lots of DLC.

I wasn't impressed by Super Meat Boy at all. We have way too many retro platformers right now. I will admit I didn't give it too much of a chance though.

XCOM is good, but old at this point (4 years in October). It plays better on PC anyway, and was a Playstation Plus giveaway from June 2013 to June 2014.

PS+ lineup not announced yet.

Super Meat Boy is a great game if you like speedy platformers with tight controls. I don't know if the 360 uses the original music or the new music I've heard on the ps4 release, but the new music is balls in comparison.

I picked up The Crew a while back for PS4 and I haven't played it yet...I should do that.

Still no official word on PS+ games, but users on Reddit are reporting that the coding on an e-mail says that the PS4 games for next month are NBA 2K16 and Gone Home.

As a side note, NBA 2K14 was a PS+ IGC game 2 years ago this June.

The rumors were true on the PS4 games.

All games available for download Tuesday, June 7th.

Playstation 4:

  • NBA 2K16
  • Gone Home

Playstation 3:

  • Echochrome
  • Siren: Blood Curse (All 12 episodes)

Playstation Vita:

  • God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP Game)
  • Little Deviants

As a non PS4 owner... ugh. Way too indieriffic this month. The highlight is the God of War game, but I can see why people have mixed feelings at best about PSP games as a PS Vita offering in PS Plus. Little Deviants is the third case I've had of owning a Vita game physically and then the game being given away on PS Plus, and I don't even have that many physical Vita games.

In good news, it looks like moho swept the Games With Gold and PS Plus selections this month, and there's nothing to add to the database from either.

Technically, not part of Games With Gold, but one of the "Deals With Gold" right now is 100% off (thus free) Tekken Tag Team Tournament 2, which I had been wanting to get.

July Games with Gold Announced:

Xbox One:

  • The Banner Saga 2 (July 1st - 31st)
  • Tumblestone (July 16th - August 15th)

Xbox 360 (BC with Xbox One):

  • Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (July 1st - 15th)
  • TRON: Evolution (July 16th - 31st)

moho, it looks like Banner Saga 2 needs to be added.

My takes: I have the first Banner Saga and it's pretty cool, though I need to get into it. Tumblestone seems to be just a generic puzzle type game. Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 is over 8 years old, and TRON Evolution is nearly 6 years old, but both should be fun.

@boffo97 - The Banner Saga 2 has been added! I actually backed the Kickstarter for The Banner Saga and I still haven't played it. Ugh, one of these days, I 'spose...

Minor correction: The PoP game's substitle is Revelations.

Anyhoo, Furi looks at least interesting. I always love Saints Row games, but given that I don't have a PS4 and they released it only for that, I'm glad I got Gat Out of Hell for $4.49 a few months ago on the Xbox Store for the 360 (also got the original Saints Row for $2. It was a sweet sale.)

PS3 has good, but old, selections, but I already have both. In fact, way way back near the start of PS Plus, they had a Fat Princess DLC for free, and that was what ended up teaching me to always pick up the DLC when they had it since I might get the game later.

Looks like the best month for Vita in quite a while.

moho, looks like Furi and Oreshika need to be added.

Both programs released their August games today:

Games With Gold:

Xbox One:

  • Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate (August 1st - 31st)
  • WWE 2K16 (August 16th - September 15th)

Xbox 360: (BC with Xbox One)

  • Spelunky (August 1st - 15th)
  • Beyond Good and Evil HD (August 16th - 31st)

Quick analysis: Don't know much about WO3U other than it's a "tactical action" game and apparently part of a series. WWE 2K16 is huge for me when it finally comes time for me to buy a current gen system. The current gen WWE games have features that the last gen ones don't have, most notably the MyCareer mode. The two 360 games were actually previously part of the PS+ IGC: Spelunky in October 2014 and Beyond Good and Evil in November 2015.

Playstation Plus games: (Available August 2nd)

PS4:

  • Tricky Towers
  • Rebel Galaxy
  • Ultratron

PS3:

  • Retro/Grade
  • Ultratron
  • Yakuza 5

PS Vita:

  • Patapon 3
  • Ultratron

Analysis: PS4 games (which I just collect and don't play anyway) look decent. Tricky Towers is a competitive puzzle type game, and Rebel Galaxy is space combat, though from the quick look, I'd prefer Wing Commander. Yakuza 5 (GTA esque sandbox) is nice since the PS+ IGC previously gave us Yakuza 4 back in February 2015. Retro/Grade should be pretty interesting, both because of the fight the space battle backwards concept and it's always nice to get alternate games to use my guitar controller on. Patapon has been a decent game since the PSP days. Ultratron is very reminiscent of the classic arcade twin stick shooter Robotron 2084, and should also be familiar to fans of Smash TV and Total Carnage.

moho, looks like the only game that needs added is Tricky Towers.

Another month of me questioning the value of my PS Plus membership. These games seem fine but nothing really jumps out at me as a great reason to have the actual membership.

I've got 5 months until I need to decide if I want to keep it or not. As of right now, I am leaning towards not keeping it.

Rebel Galaxy ought to be passably fun and not something I would have sought out on my own, which is the kind of thing I like getting from ps+. Patapon 3 I am looking forward to as I really liked the original Patapon, so that'll be a good time waster when I'm on the go.

I feel as if I need to get my hands on the older Yakuza games now that I have 4 and 5 from ps+, I keep hearing good things about this series. I don't even know if 1-3 even have a north american release/localization.

I've played a little bit of Retro/Grade from before and it's a very interesting concept, but the novelty dies out pretty fast.

The rest is totally "meh" to me.

In case anyone here lives in Europe, there's been a change to the PS Plus offerings for this month.

Apparently, Retro/Grade was offered for Europe's Instant Game Collection before, so it's been pulled and replaced with Tom Clancy's EndWar. Since Retro/Grade is a new game for the North American IGC, it's remained in place here.

PSA: For PS3 owners, check out Oddworld: New n' Tasty on the PS Store. It's now showing up as free. This is likely because the PS4 version was part of the March PS Plus Instant Game Collection offerings.

Edit: By "buying" the game, you also get the PS Vita version.

I've seen quite a few postings on here about how people are thinking about stopping their PS Plus subscription. This might give you a good reason to finally pull the plug.

Sony is increasing PS+ subscription fees. 1 month will stay constant at $10, but 3 months goes from $17.99 to $24.99 and 1 year goes from $49.99 to $59.99. To be fair, these are the same prices Xbox Live Gold charges, and it's the first price increase since the inception of the PS+ program back in 2010.

That said, PS+ has had a bad case of the mehs lately (pretty much right around the time they started the more expensive subscription service Playstation Now), and this increase is going to need to come with better "free" games if they don't want a lot of people moving on.

It's even worse for us up in Canuckistan. It's a $20 increase on the yearly sub. :(
