Not 100% sure on this one: The Falconeer for Xbox Series X
Pricecharting.com has The Falconeer listed as an Xbox One game (https://www.pricecharting.com/game/xbox-one/the-falconeer). However, Wikipedia lists its release date as Nov. 10, 2020 as a launch title for the Series X. This unboxing video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCl5pF0EIqo) also shows that it says "XBOX" on the spine and has the Series X sticker on the front cover.
Of course, you can just link up the pricing data for the Xbox One listing on Pricecharting, but it's confusing because I have a Series X and list it in my collection under that console. I hate cross-generation games from a cataloging perspective...

Since it's a "smart delivery" game it'll always be considered a last gen physical release, regardless of how close it released to next gen systems. It's far from a perfect solution, but that's generally the easiest way to handle these things both from a collecting perspective and from an organizational purpose due to tie-ins with sites like pricecharting.

@dhobo - Hmm, I see what you’re saying, but I don’t know that Pricecharting or Completionator are consistent in that approach. Take Gears Tactics for example. It was released on the same day as The Falconeer (Nov. 10 2020, the Series X launch day) and it is considered by Pricecharting and Completionator to be a Series X game… thoughts?

The Xbox Series X / Smart Delivery physical releases definitely throw a wrench into things. And it's not just VGPC integration, but simply entering release date information is...odd. If you're a collector going for a full set of Xbox One and Xbox Series X games, unless you purchase two copies (or enter a "duplicate" so you have one collection entry for each platform), you will be forced to pick a single platform for the game (which then impacts your ability to pull in VGPC as you've run into).

This has popped up in the past with the Burger King games that are technically playable on Xbox and Xbox 360. Since they came in Xbox 360 style cases, I think most people generally consider them to be Xbox 360 games, but there are quite a few people that have (rightfully) listed them under Xbox. Since it was only three games, I opted to just put them under Xbox 360 in terms of release information (and that's what VGPC uses), but it's still not quite correct.

The problem with Xbox Series X is that it's hitting a lot more titles in general. I've thought about it before and I think what I'll need to eventually do is allow a single VGPC entry cover multiple Completionator entries somehow. Until I have a solution in place, we will unfortunately be limited to whatever platform VGPC is using. For what it's worth, I've personally listed all of my "Smart Delivery" games under Xbox Series X in my collection, so I'm right there with you

...and here I thought they were at least somewhat consistent over at pricecharting. Shows what I know.

I'm wondering if we added a new "cross-gen" field to the Releases section that would allow us to add a second platform for the relatively few games that would need a proper cross-gen platform like this. Would that work somehow, or is there far more complication to it than that regarding implementation?

Dark Souls III Day One Edition - https://www.pricecharting.com/game/xbox-one/dark-souls-iii-day-one-edition
There is an entry for this in the “Edition” field and it pulls the right artwork, but still displays the value of the standard edition.

These were variants that were only at Blockbuster because they wanted to rent the games out individually instead of in the double pack. When I add “Blockbuster” in the edition field, the estimated value doesn’t change.

@dhobo Hmm... I'm not seeing any pricing changes even switching to a new computer on a different network... Did you specifically update the "Edition" pricing? Or is this something that will take several days to update?

I put “Pokewalker” in the edition field but the value was not reflected. Pricecharting has two entries for both games - a “normal” version and one with the Pokewalker.

Maybe this stems from ignorance on my part, but I thought every edition of Soulsilver/Heartgold was a "pokewalker" edition as it was bundled with every copy. Or was there some kind of release that happened without the accessory?
