@metsatron - Welcome aboard! I've think I've added all of the games you posted, but let me know if I missed one. I wasn't familiar with a lot of them, so I had a couple of notes:
Anyways, hope you're enjoying the site and feel free to leave any feedback you may have here on the forums (or use the button at the top, either way, I'll get it!) Our community is small, but we're hoping to grow, so definitely spread the word! I try to keep the updates coming as often as I can, though it's been a little light with holidays, vacations, and now an awesome cold to deal with :P But soon we will return to a mostly weekly release schedule :D |

Should Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles be a compilation? |

@jwcooley - I'm torn on that one. On the one hand, there are some old Castlevania games available (at least one of which is locked at the start). On the other hand, I don't think it was really promoted as a compilation game. The extra games are more of bonuses (I think). This is a similar issue on other games (seems like Namco used to do this) as well and I've generally not created compilations for them. A more recent (but slightly different) example is the original release of Bayonetta 2 (which is a Wii U exclusive). It actually contains the original game as well (which was previously not on a Nintendo platform). I did not set that one up as a compilation game since although they promoted the fact that it includes the original game, it's not a compilation game per se. This is complicated by the fact that the upcoming Bayonetta 2 reprint will NOT include the original release... So back to Castlevania. If this were set up as a compilation game, the actual game would be Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles. Then there would be a "Rondo of Blood Remake" or something, some new entry to account for the bulk of the content that would be set a sub-game. Then various other games as additional sub-games. There's other stuff like Powerslave that has a mini game (Death Tank) that's completely separate from the actual game. Again, I did not create a compilation for this one either. I'm definitely interested in hearing what you guys think because it doesn't really matter to me either way, I've just been using this my rule of thumb up to this point.

What is even more interesting is that it also includes, at least according to several wikis I've read, a version a Symphony of the Night as well. I think it should be a compilation. I know they're more like bonus games but they're still extra games rolled up into one package. I'm fine either way, though. |

Awesome site, bud. Came here and registered as soon as you responded to my post asking about this site in the Wii U game collecting post yesterday on Reddit. I look forward to digging into the the features here and the forum. I couldn't find: Steel Talons (SNES) New Super Mario Bros. U / Luigi U combo disc (Wii U) |

360: DS: PS3: PSP: I don't know if this is the place to go in depth on this, but there's some other stuff that I'm not sure I should report because I don't know what your policy is on what constitutes a "different" game. You have some bundles listed like the Bioshock/Oblivion bundle, but not others like the Lego Indiana Jones/Kung Fu Panda bundle or the Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts/Viva Pinata bundle or the Sega Superstars Tennis/Xbox Live Arcade Compilation Disc bundle. I don't have a huge opinion either way on this. What I am curious about are GotY/Complete editions of games. For example, I've noticed: Little Big Planet 2 (listed) But also these, despite the fact they are categorically and functionally the same as the ones above. Different releases, with different case artwork, different disc contents, and different game IDs (I think): Dishonored (listed) And then other, grayer situations, where it's not as clear. Maybe the second release had more content, but it came on a separate disc, and the base game disc was essentially unchanged. Or maybe the game ID didn't change. Or maybe the rerelease was handled one way on the Playstation but a different way on Xbox. Or any of a litany of other reasons. Fallout 3 (listed) There are, of course, many more examples. Sorry, I'm not trying to criticize, just wondering if you had a policy on this or not. I only ask because I'm weirdly obsessive about this and I find this kind of organizational problem really fascinating.

@zyxomma100 Regarding the other editions of games that are listed on the site. It's actually something that's been brought up by moho_00 for discussion amongst the curators regarding how we ought to handle these cases. So far, moho_00's operating with the idea is that if an edition doesn't have substantially different content over say, a base edition of a game (ie: an "HD" edition as opposed to added playable content/features) then you would typically enter it as the base game and specify the edition in the edition field. If there is a difference in the content however, then usually moho_00 will wind up adding the new edition as it's own entry when a user such as yourself requests it. There are plenty of cases where there seems to be a discrepancy in this general policy (as you've pointed out), but 99% of the time, it's because moho_00 is trying to accommodate a user's request, as the ultimate goal is to have the site work for everyone. The site is, of course, still a work in progress with new features being added by moho_00 fairly regularly (and a huge database being updated by us curators). We've been discussing how to handle the whole multiple editions thing just recently, and yes, it's one heck of an organization problem! On the one hand, we could give every edition on every platform it's own entry, but that would clutter up the database with a lot of "repeat" entries and require a lot of extra effort from the site's admin/curators, but on the other hand, the current policy of "add extra editions as needed/requested" saves a lot of work but at the cost of some game entry accuracy. Don't apologize for asking questions, moho_00 likes getting feedback! |

https://www.unseen64.net/saintsrowundercover/ I'm not sure if this is something we could/should add since it's more or less an unfinished prototype. I still have to transfer it to my psp and see if I can even run it. Just thought I'd mention it since it's pretty neat. |
